it won't have any effect as long as you pay the ticket off before you convert it. hell it may have no effect even if you don't pay it - they just asked me a bunch of questions no one in their right mind would say "yes" to when i did it.
"do you have any pending tickets?"
"no"
"has your license been suspended or revoked?"
"no"
"are you under the influence of any prescription drugs"
"no"
ect.

but if you don't pay it, i don't know how it is in cali, but in illinois and several other states i've lived in, they will issue a warrent for your arrest and that **** seems to always pop up at a bad time.

just pay it, I wouldn't want to worry about all that legal stuff if you don't. And no I don't think it will effect your new license when you move out of Cali.

The national system is updated monthly at best. Your ticket will never show up. I had a suspended license for a parking ticket I never received(rain+wipers turned it to paste). The issue was clear for 6 months but when I moved it showed on the national database. NJ is very fast to suspend, very slow to publish :P

thanks all for your feedback.
i am living in a county here which is ticket happy.

i was surprised to be pulled over on the highway by a non CHP officer. I thought before only CHP could have such authority but....all **** could happen in kally.

anyway...i will definitely pay this ticket off and be DONE with kallyphornia

i would be carefull what you do, friend of mine got a ticket in GA and within 3 weeks his FL drivers licence was suspened, he finaly paid the ticket and the points went on his FL drivers licence....even though the ticket was issued in GA by the GA police and he lives in FL.

Im not talking near the FL/GA border, this was Atlanta and Orlando.

His insurance also went up as a result of the points.

They might be slow to get it going, but it definetly can affect your other licence.

If you're really worried about it then take the traffic school option. That way the ticket will not show up on your record. Many counties now have on-line traffic school available so you can still take it after you move.

i knew this. i just cleared my last stupid stop sign ticket less than 18 months so wont be qualify for traffic school.

cops in california seem to have too much time in their hands to go after minor traffic violations rather than focusing on criminal activities.

i got a ticket the other day. first one in 6 years. and in my new 8!!

in the SHADOW of a 55 MPH sign, they tag me for doing 49 in a 35 zone.

grrr..

classic small-town speed trap. nothing to do with highway saftey.

dude i got a speeding ticket my sophmore year of college back in '98 and never paid it. the county i got it in doesn't publish any of their stuff to the national database and every other time i got pulled over me records always showed up clean. an 18 wheeler totaled my car (and ran off without stopping) one day on the highway in '03 (my mother's birthday of all days) and the 911 call went to the county i got the ticket in instead of highway patrol or the state troupers. they had a warrent for me. so i had to sit in county all day in a cell that smelled like all manner of nasty with a bunch of other guys that were in there for much worse things. the accident happened around 4am. my roomate didn't get there to bail me out until around 5pm. i got time served for the ticket so i didn't have to come out of any additional money, but i learned my lesson good that day. if you get a ticket, PAY IT!

No offense William, but a couple of observations for all... I have never seen anyone really get a ticket for 75 in a 65. Come on, be real with us, weren't you really doing maybe 80 or so and the cop discounted it a bit?

Also, we've all been there, so you get a speeding ticket once for every couple of hundred times that you've actually been speeding. That's the price. Once in a while we all get caught.

Just pay the ticket and don't make matters any worse.
