Spotted Paint

Hi does anyone know why im getting spots on my paint? its in a few places and looks like it has to do with the wax. any ideas? thanks

water spots?
tough to tell from that picture. What type of wax did you use?

ive used turtle wax ice. maybe i put to much and its doing this. cuz its def not water marks or dirt

it doesnt come off. ive been searching around and i think it might be "hard water corrosion" through the layers of wax or possible wax buildup.

man that sucks. it looks like your car got stuck behind a gravel truck!

its odd you dont know what is causing it. my brothers beemer has hard water corrosion spots on it pretty bad and it looks like someone just let water dry on it. lots of little water rings.

matt: try using a clay bar on a small portion sectoin of it.
It WILL remove the wax but maybe it'll help with the spots.

It also looks like it might be paint over-spray. Whatever it is, the clay should remove the spots. You could also try a mild polishing compound on a microfiber cloth and try to rub it out. If not you might need to get someone to buff it.

so i clayed it just now with a coat of wax. spots didnt come out however they did disappear 70%. doesnt really show anymore they blended. i think i will go to the dealer tom because it looks like there is something going on with the clear coat. thanks for the help

Looks hella lot better. It looks like some pretty serious "orange peel" in the before pic.
