Standard equipment vs options??

Has anyone heard anything beside speculation on what will come standard?? I have heard mention of 17" and 18" wheels. WIll a 6spd be standard or 5spd? Standard leather? alarm? etc. I am excited by the fact that I should be able to afford the RX-8--however, I'd be a lot more certain about my choice if it came well equiped at the base price. I love the rotary and always will and the RX-8 is truly a beautiful car. However, if it's not well equiped my choice will not be as easy. I also really like the Subaru Impreza WRX for it's performance and the Acura RSX Type S comes very well equiped and seems like an extremly well rounded car. From what I've seen so far--neither can hold a stick to the RX-8, but I think a lot of the small details will be what will push away or pull in people who have are not already huge fans of Mazda and the rotary.

I don't think anything is known for certain. I think all that can be said is that it will have 4 doors and be powered by a rotary engine. Untill Mazda releases production specs we're all guessing.
Even pics and stats that have been shown are for a prototype.

Please keep in mind that these are specifications for the prototype rx-8, this does not guarantee that the listed specifications/features will make it into the production version.

Everything on this list is reasonable to expect on the production version but I do not believe that they fully approved for production.

They better keep the two tone colors in the seats to match the color of the car
