Is this a steal?

You shouldn't have any trouble locating good rear suspension bits at local salvage yards, or on something like www.car-part.com.

look at how much money the car and its parts will cost to get to running condition, good stable running condition, is it better to buy a rx8 for the same price or alittle more except it works without issues? id think so.

Does this look like all i need? Will this be better than a stock rx8? Will it be noticeably better?

Good news and bad news! My friend gave me the key to start seeing if i wanted it. (I.E taking it to my garage and taking the wheels off and evaluating the suspension damage. So, I checked the truck and here, his dad had extremely heavy trucking gear in it. There were heavy duty chains and hooks and what not. Nuts. So, that explains the back being so low to the ground. The bad news, the freaking auto lock locked me out of the car when i was about to pull the fuel fuse to unflood it. So, now, i'm going to go to home depot tomorrow and get a door stop then wedge it into the door and pop the door with a hanger. Wish me luck.
P.S any tips on detecting frame damage? Both doors close fine.

Careful with the hanger, it will scratch the window. If possible protect the window glass with tape.
On the under side of the body there are holes that were used to position
the sheet metal during assembly. do some cross measuring and compare. (square is square).
A body shop near you might provide some spec if you ask really nice.
Google "string alignment" ," how to do string alignment". It is a good skill to have.

Done. No frame damage. Bought an '08 transmission that had 36k on it from ebay, just now, for $650 (including shipping)
can you believe this ****? http://www.ebay.com/itm/300660601992...#ht_676wt_1413
I could sell it back on ebay and make money if i wanted to.
any good diy threads for transmission replacement? i looked and there wasn't any. Is it just as straight forward as removing the driveshaft and crankcase bolts? Or, do you have to jack up the motor to get to the remaining bolts? (had to on my 240, it was super lame)
EDIT: FOUND IT! https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...y+transmission (No engine mess! YAY!)
edit edit: Almost killed myself of noobiness tonight thinking that this car was a 4-port. i saw that the intake manifold has two pipes, but it seems like this is the case on every renesis. I thought for a second that maybe it had another two pipes on the bottom and that it needed to have 3 visible pipes up top to be a "6-port". Well, I'm dumb. After sitting through a 2 hour video of a guy doing a 13b rebuild, you think i would have known that there is no "on the bottom" intake. Wikipedia calmed me down by telling me that in north american they only sold the 6 speed's with the "high output" 6-port. Whew. So, two noob questions for you guys. Where are these said ports? and why does the 13b-rew have 4 intake pipes? Thanks
