steering wheel position VS seat position

steering wheel position VS seat position
I haven't heard anyone complain about this so I'm wondering...
Is anyone else out there having a hard problem getting comfortable with the wheel position?
I have the power seat completely down as far as it will go, and I used the tilt option on the steering wheel and adjusted to the highest position and it only clears the seat by like 4 or 5 inches!!! Its totally pissing me off since I have to keep my legs spread apart so they straddle the wheel and not rub the bottom of the steering wheel!
Is this normal??? On the lowest position, the steering wheel rubs against the seat!! I can't figure out if this is normal, or if someone really missed this in the design stage.

ok... my memory wasn't quite accurate and its not as bad as I remembers (with the wheel touching the seat). oops.
But I think the wheel is still too far down, I wish it had the tilt/telescope feature out 6 has. I spent like 15 minutes last night and seemed to find a bit better driving position, but its still a tad annoying.

Pr0ber, I do agree with you though. My tilt is at it's highest extent (which is much lower than in previous cars I've owned), my seat adjusted so that my left foot can just fully disengage the clutch and only slightly touch the pedal to the firewall, and with arms straight wrists reach the wheel. The seat is bottomed out at the rear, and maxxed out to the front (I like a scooped seating position). When heel-toeing, I have to be careful not to strike the wheel with my right knee. When my son is in the seat behind me (he's 4, and his feet don't reach the floor), I have to move me seat forward a tad so his shoes are not scraping up the seat-back. It is almost impossible for me to heel-toe in this position. So, in short - yeah there is a frustratingly limited range of adjustment in regards to the wheel and seat. BTW, I am 5'10" and mostly legs (lol) - about 140 lbs. I may try lowering the seat front a little to see if maybe that helps keep a straighter line with the pedals. No way I can sit completely flat, though. Just feels weird to me.

I am almost exactly the same size as BNEZ but 10lbs heavier.
1) I think the seat is too high even at it's lowest position front and back. I like a more level seat and have to lift the rear just slightly.
2) For me the gas pedal is too far to the left for my comfort. Much closer to center than I am used to.
3) The seat isn't quite centered on the steering wheel. Not sure if this adds to it or is just a minor annoyance.
4)I also have to have the seat up close to be able to engage the clutch. My legs end up bending too much during normal driving position and my knees hit the steeering wheel.
After spending 2 hrs in an S2000 Friday, this car is a luxury cruiser by comparison. One that handles like a sports car though.

yea... I tried heel-toeing the other day and its next to impossible because of the steering wheel :o
I briefly looked over the possibility of removing the seat and making lower seat mounting brackets, but theirs a hump the the floor that basically touches the seat bottom now (I'm not sure if its a fake hump in the carpeting or if its actually in the floorboards)
