Still looking

Well my hunt is still on for my RX8.

I have a couple question though.

If I find a RX8 that has just about timed out from warranty,(no time but low mileage) should I be concerned?

Would this sports car be ok for a daily driver? I put about 120 miles a day.

What is the expected life time of the renisis rotary?

Anything else that someone could shed light on I am all eyes.

Thanks

Youre in canada and it snows in canada correct? youre asking if a sports car would be good in snow? expected life time of a rotary? who knows... its still a fairly new car and no one has reached 100k miles yet. if youre looking for a daily driver id take a look at something thats FWD or AWD... like a WRX.

The car is more than fine as a daily driver. But if you're putting down 120 miles a day, you might want to consider something more fuel efficient.

Well in the lower mainland it snows once a year (maybe twice) and the roads get cleared really quick. So that part really isn't an issue. Thanks for the reply though.

Not really worried about the fuel efficiency just that it can handle the mileage.

Thanks

You say that now but when you start having to go to the gas station every couple of days, you're gonna wish you had hybrid for a daily driver.

Averaging about 255 miles per tank*, 80% highway. The highest I've ever gotten is 310 miles, all highway.

*when the gas warning light goes on

Use SEARCH. Some of the questions you're asking are stickied.

I wouldn't get an RX-8 for 120 mile commute. Get a MAZDASPEED 3 when it comes out.

My Mazda 3 gets around 340 miles to the tank so it would be such a huge diff. But thanks for the heads up.

ok i will search some more. I did inquire about the mazdaspeed 3 but for the same price I could get an 8. Of course the 8 would be used though.

the MS3 has 4 seats and it can handle the snow, it handles great (not as good as the 8 ofcourse), will probably drink less gas, more power stock, comes with warrenty, and basically its a better daily driver for your situation.

I agree with all that but dealers in BC are only getting one at a time. The only color option is the bright red. The way the salesman talk is like they are all pre sold. I know it is just the salesman but the way the 3 is selling I am not sure if it is BS.

The 8 just gives me more options and I cant really compare the 2. Car or Sports Car.

Thanks

My light comes on in the 290 something range. I do mixed driving of between 25%/75% to 40%/60% city/highway driving. I have been getting an average of low to mid 23s, so high 22s to high 23s out of my tank. Not too bad because when I ordered the car I was hoping to get 20 based on a lot of what I have seen on here about mileage.

Obviously your mind is made up. So get an RX-8. Make sure to get a good deal. 2004s with warranty should be below 20K.

then if he wants an 8 so badly then why would he ask? its like being hungry and asking peopel if you should eat. we're just trying to throw him better choices for his situation.

Those were my thoughts, but I was trying to be more diplomatic. The questions do seem to be rhetorical.
