Strange rubbing noise on front right side

When I make a U-turn (left turn), my front right wheel sounds like is rubbing against something. So I took it in to the dealer and advisor told me that everything was ok and the wheel was in good condition. He said that he would sand and clean up the rotor section (or something like that....also mentioned about being the same sound coming from 6s too). So after I got it back, the sound semi went away, but I can still slightly hear it. I called him again and he said that all Rx-8 do that, and that it has something to do with the power steering wheel and that mazda knows about it. Does anybody have this weird noise when they make left turns? When I make right turns, there are no sounds.

yes i do but my noises are a sorta knocking noises which could be caused by a rubbing effect. I need to take it to the dealer for them to check it.

It was free for me. I told them the problem and they checked it without any questioning. But the sound is still bothering me, although the advisor said it was nothing major (or he says).

This is normal depending on your definition of normal.
What is actually happening is your rim is coming off the hub its most notice able when making a full 180 turn under moderate to heave acceleration.

I have same noises ( tire rubbing in front wheel well ) when slowly turning out of parking spaces - I was told by dealer it was the DNC and to deactivate (the button on left by interior light dimmer) to see that it is normal - could be Dealer blow-off B.S. who knows - haven't checked it out lately

Yep Polak, thats the recall they did on my car, as written on my invoice (Repair as per 02-002/4 Bulletin). Although, the noise has been reduced....it still makes it, but not as loud just noticible enough to be aware that it's there. I'm just paranoid and I don't want my wheel/rotor/whatever mess up and then a bigger bill pops out. I have bad luck with anything related to wheels, just 2 days ago I had my rotors/brakes replaced on my accord and to my surprise one of the hubs was not tightened and it started screetching like crazy. It took the shop 3 times to fix the problem. Thats why I just wanted to make sure that this is not a major thing that would lead to disaster.
