Strato blue

Hi my American Friends i am on the other side of the atlantic in the UK and just been ordered myself a RX8 in strato blue but i have a small problem!

NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!!!!!! in that colour (dont say 'kinda like a red one but dark blue'), the only pics i have seen are the Mazdaspeed ones! so do any of you nice owners have this colour?

its my first 200 bhp + car so looking forward to it! driven FQ and scoobys alot but on looks the RX winns hands down been waiting a month now so have a while to go!

one thing wich is odd however is in the uk the lower power model starts at $38200
but you do get all the toys thrown in free like 18's and 6 disc ect but in the states they seem cheaper?

not that i am worried its a moving in present from my dad!

any pics would be much appriciated!

Thanks

You can check it out with the color configurator at www.mazda.de.

Strato is probably a better description for it. I haven't seen much blue at midnight but the stratosphere certainly is a deep, pure, beautiful blue.

I've only seen MS pics of that color.

If they're offering strato blue as a standard color in the UK, does that mean we're going to get it in the US as well?

midnight blue is different from strato blue

strato blue (seen on a new Mazda3) is a deeper, darker blue than the midnight blue I have on my 2000 Protege.

Mazda 3 and 6's have strato blue offered here in the US. I did a quick search and I found some pictures of a 6 with that color. The color configurator does not gives a good detail of the shade. Anyway, the color is close or same as the MS 8 posted somewhere in this forum. Hopefully this will help.

That has got to be the best Mazda color ever IMO. I kept staring at the Mazda 6 Strato Blue the first time I saw it, just as I did with the RX-8. Just imagine what a Strato Blue RX-8 could do to a person!

This RX-8 looks to be a different shade of blue. Or is it just the lighting?

People at work call my "titanium" 8 "blue". I cannot believe it. It does have a serious pearl tint to it, but I don't think blue sticks out as much as, hmmmmm, dark silver. WoW. Anywho, I remember seeing that pic of the MS midnight blue, and , IMHO, it blows the strato blue outta the sky. No pun intended. LOL. Sorry. Purplish-violet-blue is definately not common for stock colors, and I consider it a gem. Too bad it costs and arm and a leg to repaint a car. I would paint mine in second if I could cut that kinda cheese.
