Stupid Friends.

Hey guys , i got a quick question. If you slam the front doors with the rear doors open , does it cause any damage? My friends constantly do this , as they cant seem to remember to close the freakin rear doors first , they even forget that they are even there at times. Stupid friends

ps , this was in no way an insult to those who close the front doors before the rear.....not

Depends on what you call a "slam". If it's just pushed closed and kinda just makes a thud and leans back open a lil, it likely didn't do much.

However, if you REALLY slammed it hard, i wouldn't doubt that you could bend the door/frame to a certain extent. It would probably take numerous times to REALLY notice a problem tho.

I've had the same problem, but after enough rides, they've started to learn. My biggest fear is if somehow they time it so someone closes the front just before the other is closing the back and the back door hits the front door... I havnt really taken the time to see how the back overlaps the front in that situation, but I can only imagine it'd do some damage. I'm really interested in hearing if anyone's seen that or had that happen to their 8.

Hmm......good question........i've actually seen this happen with my car once or twice and the 2nd time, i ran around and i was like wait!! the back door needs to be closed first.........and now they all know to make sure the back door closed before slammin it, altho some of them are like scared to get in my car cause they think they might break something, but i think, u would probably have to slam it like a lot on a frequent basis for somethin to occur that would be noticeable. I hate the sound that it makes with teh front door slammed and the back door still open. But i think if it wwas to happen on random occassions. i think the door would be fine. Fingers crossed!

I've had my passenger front door slammed quite a few times first, no damage that I know of. I'm sure Mazda was expecting it.

One of my idiot friends tried to close the back door while the front was closed!!! yep, the dumbass did it backwards.....It didnt do any damage at all that I could notice. My friends do it ALL THE TIME, I mean its done at least once a week since I've owned my car, since I drive it so much No damage has occured yet, but ironically enough it still pisses me off as much as the first time it happend

If someone does it more than once, then they should not be allowed anywhere near your car.

I've accidentally done this once the first day I got the car...haven't had a repeat since. Use electro-shock therapy on your friends.

Tell your friends to walk if they can't figure out which door goes first
