I was sitting in a cafe shop and overheard 2 guys(who works there) talking about my rx8 in the parking lot. They said it resembles alot like a scion tc and its really slow. So both of them step out to look at my car. As soon as they walked out there I set the alarm off! Btw there was only 3 people in the cafe so they knew it was of us..

Goto autoweek.com and check out the Ferrari 599. You'll see how somone can confuse a mazda with a ferrari (and I, at a distance, will tend to confuse a Jaguar E-Type with a Ferrari 365 GTB.. ehh.)
Gotta have long hood short tail.

Will take slight umbrage at that.. the 410's a descendant of the Pinin Farina-designed 250's from the 50's.. a look which just about everyone copied copiously.
Another was the GTO (Scaglietti made that one.) The 240z was a blatant rip, and a damn nice one at that. Just about every fastback 2-seater ows its look in part to that GTO.
The MIata had, from the side, a slight 365 GTB look to it. Miata lore says they really wanted to knock off the NART Spyder, but US headlight regs would not allow for open, recessed headlights.. hence the barndoors (to meet that old, insane headlight height requirement.)

As for suicide doors, horse buggies had those in the days of Mozart (1700's) and perhaps even before. Most early cars did have suicide doors, including the el-cheapo-everyone-had-one Model A Ford..
But I think my favorite suicide-door car was the '64 Lincoln.. the really big one. Forgot its name... the one in Animal House.

So, when GM dumped FIAT, Ferrari had to "sell" Maserati back to Fiat, but will still 'help' Maserati climb out of the smoking hole it made in the 70's and 80's and 90's...
But Fiat owns Ferrari, so.. I never did understand the fiat / ferrari / maserati marriage..sounds suspiciously like a West Virginia arrangement

I was just reading something recently about Fiat was planning to list Ferrari in 2006 but decided not to, and somewhere further down in the article it was listing something about "cooperation" deals with Ford, a European company and other people. I'll look for the article and post a link. I don't reall reading about GM in it but I'll double check. I think Alfa Romeo is also part of the Fiat group, too.
