Gas for $4 a gallon its time for a revolt, a mass protest, What in the hell are they doing most just got a raise and its ate up buy buying gas an unexpected expense that went from $25 fillup to $50-$60. None of my cars get 30mpgs on average I'm going to have to start eating soup and drinking more facset water.
Beans and Bullets my friends Beans and Bullets. Or at least bicycles and microwave able lunches.
Hey was that a raz, you and your mighty Mx-5 20-29mpg not bad. But thats kicking a brother when there down, low blow. I started to buy a Civic si, hind sight.

Yes we have always paid less than other countries. That doesn't mean we shouldn't be upset when the price of something goes way up. Other countries are used to gas prices being that high. if theirs jump i'm sure they would be pissed off too.

All i can say is have a light foot, use the cruise control as often as possible and the HARDEST part of all is try not to redline as often.
IF you think about it... even the people with gas efficient cars are still feeling the pinch. Sure there getting more gas milage out there cars, but there feeling it as well in the pocket.
People who are on a budget , like our intern who is use to filling up his civic with $25 bucks of gas , now has to kick out 30-35 bucks to fill up. Thats totally out his budget, so he is hurting.Because he lives close he is biking it to work and driving his car when he absolutely has to.
So everybody is feeling this price increase, wether you drive a gas guzziling 8 or gas sipping civic.

Gas is $3.39/gal here in western PA around here its' supposed to be up to $4/gal by the 4th of July. It definately sux! But I figure if I can afford the car I can afford the gas I just have to spend less of eating out and stuff like that! Things will be ok

You gotta pay to play. At least the general public doesn't question my sexual orientation from the car I drive.
Not saying it's right or anything as I like the Miata, it's cute, like a mini cooper or beetle. I'd buy a used Z4 or Boxster myself but to each their own.

Spending 30% more on gas (or whatever) is still spending 30% more on gas. I live 6 miles from work so there are quite a few people driving civics that go through more gas than I do.
Now, when I drive out to OH in July, that's going to hurt. I'll give up drinking, cable, and 2 of my 3 meals a day before I really try to conserve on gas.

I don't understand why that should stop people from bitching about gas prices?

Just realize that there is a veeeeery long line ahead of you who have way bigger beefs when it comes to the price of gas. It's an easy argument that if gas was more aligned to world prices in the US, that there wouldn't be the consumption that we see today and there wouldn't be as large a drain on the resources that we all pay for, in more ways than one.

aren't these the same experts that said the price of oil per barrel would never reach $50 5 years ago? Yea, be extremely confident in what others say, it will get you places. And so what? Our rotary is fun to drive and if you bought a $28k sports car, I think you can shell out the maybe $40 per week to drive it for gas. And also, our gas inefficiency is somewhat offsetted by insurance rates.
Gas prices are always highest in the summer. But check oil prices, they not as high as before. It is just the season. I am not gonna predict any thing but prices will look better in a little while.
