Angry The sun is burning my eyeballs

I have had my sun visor replaced 3 times. My drivers side broke AGAIN and on September the 3 I ordered a new one from the dealer. I still to this day have not received it. I have called every week and they are telling me it is on "national backorder." Has anyone else run into this problem or are they just blowing me off.

It wouldnt bother me so bad if I dont drive 30 minutes home from work everyday into the setting sun.

Question two is has anyone bought an aftermarket visor to replace the factory ones? I am really planning on doing that eventually but I am kinda thinking about getting one with an lcd in it instead of doing a dash mounted lcd for nav, carputer etc. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

First thought: how the heck have you broken 3 of them so far? That seems kinnda odd even if you're using it all the time. I'm not too surprised that it's on back order since many owners have had theirs cracking so I imagine that Mazda is replacing a bunch of them. (I'm in the same boat with my Motor mounts)

- Do you wear shades when you drive? I personally can't use my sun visor since I'm so tall that it'll block everything in front of me if I put it down. I find that my Oakleys do a good job for daily driving.

- LCD in the visor sounds like a bad idea. Those are mainly for show since they're pretty impractical to have right in front of you; too much distraction while driving.

I do wear shades but when you are driving directly into the sun it still blocks your vision. I think they are more prone to break if you try to move it before your car has a chance to cool off inside. We have really hot summers here in AL

I know a local person who has had BOTH visors replaced 7 times now.

Personally, I'm 2.5 years into my car, and both visors are original from when I bought it *knock on wood*

I even use them frequently - as I put them down every time I park for the sunshade to be held up.

I had my driver's side replaced one. It took six weeks approximately to get one to come in for it because of a backorder.

I have had the drivers side replaced 4 times. Each time my dealer got the new visor in stock in a few days.

Why doesn't Mazda just redsign them and start putting in new ones made of a better plastic that WONT break easily?

I also have the original visors with 34k. I have a customer that has replaced 4 drivers side visors. For those of you who have had broken visors, do they break when attempting to put them to the side or just by pulling down?

Are man handling the visors?

Are the breacking when you disconnect it from the clip or when you are moving them down to block the sun?

every single time they break its the exact same thing. I get in, I buckle up I put one finger on the visor to flip it down ever so gently and it cracks all the way across the back where the two halves are glues together. About ten minutes later it falls completely hanging from the wires for the vanity light. After the first one broke I was really careful with the others being as gentle as possible, and still CRACK followed by profanity.
