This, that and Super Mazda
Well, I got my two recalls and had both done today. Also, thank to this forum, I told the Service Tech about the flash for the "rough idle and poor mileage" (even though I can't say I was experiencing either or both since 16mpg is about what I expected) and he had that done too. I know it's only the "butt meter", but it does seem to accelerate smoother and a little stronger. Given that, I'll likely never see any improvement in mpg since it feels so good to head for the redline!:p
That said, I worked at Roebling Road Raceway last weekend and there was a Formula Super Mazda there for a private test & tune. This car was turning 1.04 minute laps on the 2.02 mile, 8 turn track (the one used by Motorweek). The owner said he was hitting a little over 170mph on the front straight! This is a stock Renesis except for the exhaust manifold. He said the engine is putting out 248hp with the reduced back pressure. Attached (and following) are some photos of the car/engine.

Forgot to mention that it is rev limited to 8500rpm according to the owner. Also, it looks as though it will take the track record at Roebling away from Formula Atlantic even though it has a better tire combination allowed. And as Speed Racer says, it is a Renesis and it a 13B....1.3 liters...just as you have in your RX-8.:D
