Super-thick A-pillars

Super-thick A-pillars
I never really studied the concept pictures this closely, but now that we have a production version to scrutinize I'm being more thorough.
Looking at this picture, for example [ http://home.att.net/~mazdarx8/101-0180_IMG.JPG ] we can see that the A-pillars are just gargantuan. I have a feeling this will bug me when I drive one. I'm used to the great view out the front of my MR2, with its small hood, thin (yet still strong) A-pillars, and low belt line.
Biggest thing that will likely bug me is the blind spot these will create when trying to make a right turn on a red light.
Fiddlesticks. I suppose this is the price to pay for a stiff and safe structure. Still, it irritates.
