Surging at high rpm

Surging at high rpm
I don't know if this has been addressed before, did a search and found nothing good.
I have all the latest flashes and the recall 4206F done.
When on the gas in 3rd or 4th gear on a long accel the car stumbles/misses/surges twice at about 5-6 grand and at 7-8 grand then pulls clean to redline.
Is this just the aux ports opening and giving a small "hit" at high RPM's??
There are no other problems, no CEL's, just curious.

Ok sorry, 05, 6mt,12000 miles, prem gas, and 2-3 redlines every time I drive.
Took her out yesterday for church and noticed what was happening. It feels like the kick of an oldschool 4bbl carb snapping open.
I called it a stumble, it is hard to discribe, just a little funny blip in the powerband always at the same RPM points.
I didn't think the port switching was noticable.
And for those who don't know, I have owned 4 other rotaries, all RX7's and they never were babied. Whats the point of 9000 rpm on the tach if it is never used.

I only notice it around 4.5 to 5.5krpm dough...It is like a sudden hesitation in acceleration....
Then, on occation I notice it as I cross the 7krpm mark....
