OK Switching to manual??

I've recently bought an 04 auto RX-8 and done a lot of work to it and i've REALLY wanted to have a manual. I was thinking at first to switch it by buying a new motor and tranny then i started thinking how hard and expensive thats going to be...then i thought about just startin over but thats expensive too. So i recently came across a 20b motor and am wondering about the specs and if i might have to get a new tranny for the 20b. Or how easy is it to drop the 20b in

Not easy at all.
It would be a MAJOR mod which would run anywhere from 10 to 20k.
It can be done if you have the money and know some good people that know what the heck they are doing.

Why not look into a turbo or supercharger?
That would be cheaper....

That is kind of backwards thinking IMO...

Go ahead and pull the motor and replace all your seals(optional), and throw some FI in there.

I would be more nervous about messing with a new engine than an older one. Dont want to screw up something new and shiny, might as well **** on one that has been around the block.

lol, when I found that pic I was in awe.

But who knows if it actually has any innards, dont know if it has an e-shaft or not. It could just be a bunch of rotor housings and center pieces bolted together...

But that did make me wonder, can you really just bolt housings and centers together to add a third rotor to our engines? Is it that simple(besides intake/exhaust manifolds, fuel management, ECU, the other overly complicated stuff)? Makes me wonder if anyone has tried making a 20B REN...
