TAILLIGHT FOGGING... need help!

My drivers side tailight suddenly started fogging up. As always warrenty just expired only 3 months ago. i only have 59000km on the car and i think that this is total bullshit.

Anyone have any ideas on anything i can do. $200 bucks for a new tailight is my last option.

ok, i dont know how to help you. its normally a warranty thing, but since you dont have one, you might have to buy a new one

want to save $200?
Then you have to work to earn it.

1. remove taillight
2. open the taillight, ie remove the "seal"
3. Dry the taillight, ie might have to use a hairdryer or ..heres where
you have to use common sense and use it to dry the lite, just dont bake it in the over.
4. Look at the seal, is it broken? if so you will need a new one
where? make ur own. again common sense. worst case, go to the local parts store /wallyworld and get some kind of sealer/tube type
5. put that seal/sealer and put it back, might have to wait till the sealer sets ( if u used the tube type)
6 re install the tail light.

Note that this will take some time, its not a 5 minute job.

good luck

thanks guys, i did some searching after my post and found the SB. I will dry it out and replace the seal. Dealer says its only $20 bucks for the seal. If that dont work, ill do the ebay thing, a used light is pretty cheap.

Hit the tail light with a hammer and clean inside it. It works!

open it up, dry it out and place one of those silica bags you find in brand new computer packaging boxes in it. That might solve the problem....come to think of it, I'm gonna try that=)

I presume you're serious. But either way, that worked like a charm when a tailight on my daughter's Accord kept filling with water.

fogging up and filling with water are two separate things. you can't stop fogging by drilling a hole.
