Taken the Plunge
Hi,
New today to your Forum and having thought hard about a MX-5 purchase I entered my local Mazda dealer and fell in love at first sight. There is nothing like it and I immediately traded in my S2000 which I have enjoyed and handed over my deposit.
It arrives 17th December and I can not wait. No I did not buy a MX-5 Sport, but A BRIGHT Yellow RX-8......
Do not care about the fuel problems etc etc, thats what the warranty is for, all I can say is your a long time dead and for £22000 its a bargain.
Keep up the good work Mazda and (Ford).
Hi to everyone out there and less negative waves.

Welcome Jim to the forum, and pleased to hear you chose the RX-8 over the MX-5, or your present S2000.
I will be anxious to hear your comparison once you have your RX-8.

EX-S2000...........would be curious to know why you originally preferred an MX5 over the S2K?
Good luck with the RX though, I know someone at work who has also gone from an S2K to the RX8 and really loves the car.
Doogy

Sounds like your going to love the car, I too will look forward to your thoughts. Every car has it's pitfalls, this car has few. This is absolutely the most fun car I have ever driven.

In reply to Doogy, My S2K has now some 72000 trouble free miles on her and finally out of warranty. Even as a mechanic I fear that 9000 RPM red line and luck will run out at some time. I love the Front engine and rear wheel drive and fancied the same again but at half the price of a new Honda, which is why I went looking at the MX-5. This of course went out of the window when I saw her!!!!! The rest is History.
P.S. I should register the car in 2004 as this would add future value but 13 extra days to wait I just can't do it.
Can not explain but you might know where I am coming from.
