you know, after reading about that stage II gti with so many mods you cant even list em, i was like, wtf am i doing a driving a rx8?

so i dropped by the vdub dealership and traded in my car for a gti. man, this thing blows the doors off the rx8.

you dont want an rx8 dude, you're too baller for it. im glad i switched, i cant wait till i get my stage II!!!

 

stage II is so over rated man i skipped the stage III and went for the stage IV

Are you shiting me? Well that's cool. I thought the rx8 forum would have some die hard zoom zoom guys. But I guess i'm never getting rid of my gti. I wont be happy untill I upgrade fuel pump and s3 injetors and go with k04 turbo. Should put me around 320bhp and 340btw. Should be in the 12 seconds in a 1/4 mile.
Now I have about 270 hp and 300 tw

Genius. You load it up with power, and then proceed to weigh it down with a bunch of subs.

Given your FWD, you're NOT going to hit 12 seconds in the 1/4. A friend's stripped out Civic pushing 350+HP is barely into 12s.

My friend has an 05 GTI VR6 with about 450-500 whp with complete engine rebuild, trans, some intake that sounds like shrek, turbo blah blah blah, and slicks at the track in pittsburgh and only runs 12.5 to 13 in the 1/4. I could take some pictures if you wanted to see it.

As for the engine, I gotta have my rotary since there is nothing like it, just my two cents.

BTW... how high can your engine rev? 6k maybe? Well this car can do 9.5k... u no... it automatically pwns it becuz teh number is higha!

But seriously, no matter how much power you have on your "GTI" you'll never have the same handling qualities as in rx-8. I can almost guarantee you that if you go to an AUTOX with all that power, you will just understeer and lose terribly to an rx-8. Read more, many of us are sick of baby feeding people who randomly come into the forum.

i just came back from a little drive, cause i just got the stage II installed! **** this thing is so fast. i never even knew cars could be this fast!

i saw an rx8 at a stoplight and i was like, "hey i used to have an 8, wanna race?" dude was like, "i'll smoke you" but when the light turned green i hit the gas and SMOKED HIM!! man it was so awesome. all he saw was my taillights.

Ray, always the diplomat. It takes a certain type of person(ality)/driver to appreciate what the RX-8 does and is capable of. The guy is clearly about straight line speed and dyno #'s. The fact he cant say he runs the 1/4 mile in such and such time and only dyno's 180whp will strike a blow to his ego. Before long he will be pissing and moaning like the rest of the 1/4 mile junkies who made the mistake of buying an RX-8. Im trying to spare him the trouble but more importantly, spare US of hearing about it.

 

I know its a common upgrade, but why the hell are you upgrading to tiny **** poor k04 turbos? They come stock in the cobalt SS now too... Why upgrade to a turbo smaller than the Evo stock turbo? Just go all the way man, be cool. Go gt45r or go home.

 

what are you talking about? 180whp @ 14.4 in the 1/4 is not bad at all. and yes i've done that myself. and yes i've repeated it a dozen times.

 

Then you are one good driver to get 14.4. Some people only manage 15.4! Which is terrible.
How fast are you running now with your mods that you have now?

 

So basically, you are saying he is (more or less) like you used to be before getting this car...
