lol im still here dealing with this people, ash8 i drive my car 7 miles to go work and 7 to come back, i know how to drive my car, besides doesnt mazda brag about the high rpms>?? and isnt this a sports car??? i mean if i wanted a father car i would have a van or even a mazda 6 either way, they told me that they found metal particles on my fluids and that my tires are wasted evenly, basically they say i was doing burnouts..., i honestly didnt as tempting as it is. but they saying they not covering, and i got a quote on how much its gonna be 4939 plus tax to fix the car lol they almost match my miles. so tell me if you wouldnt be mad paying for a 45,000 dollar car and they telling you u got to pay 5500 to fix(after NY taxes). thats just bull. i understand the clutch gone but a tranny??

i dont want the car no more, i only got 7921 miles on it and they giving me this hard time, imagine at 40,000 miles. i think i might settle for the competition get a g35x, or the rwd and go for the manual 298 whp or 280 whp for the awd.
say the least they take care of their customers.

go all the way to the top, start with demanding to see the service manager, work up to the general manager, then on to corporate. Make sure other customers can here you dealing with them, preferably potential buyers :p . Gather as much data as you can from those who've had similar issues, specifically the name and number for their dealerships, and keep at it, they'll cave eventually. BTW everyone's (Rx8) rear tires wear faster than the fronts, if you haven't had them rotated recently/yet that would explain the lower tread on the rears.

There is a private/internal bulleting regarding weak shift forks. I had not abused my tranny, and after a few months i had shifting problems. When I brought it in, the service center called mazda and they approved a tranny rebuild immediately.

Other first year run cars had similar issues. G35 for one.

Mazda replaced this ONE free of charge this time. Mazda WORLDWIDE supports their product like NO other car manufacturer I know in my 48 years. I suggest that your attitude may have something to do with their Dealer reluctance to help you.

knight7, not trying to sound disrespectful here... you sound like you might be young. Unfortunately, some businesses (not just car dealerships) have very little respect for young customers. Have you tried visiting the dealer with a gray haired friend or family member? Or even better, have them visit on your behalf.

I would like to, but I still don't have a handle on your problem. Please answer the following questions:

1) You say: "I understand the clutch gone". Do you mean that you burned out the clutch?
2) What exactly is the transmission problem?
3) What is their reason for not covering the repair under warranty? Do they say you were too hard on the car and this is not normal wear? Do they suspect you hit the transfer case on a curb or something?
4) Have you asked for the Mazda regoinal or zone manager to get involved?
5) What have they given you in writing?

i didnt burn the clutch, the car has no problem goin to gear, when you press the gas it makes some noise under it, and you can see the stick move. they just told me i need a new one and a new flywheel. besides the noise on 2-4 gear( idont know about 5th and 6th, didnt want to push the car) reverse doesnt go into gear sometimes, i get a grinding noise. the car drives strong besides reverse, and when it get on reverse it doesnt feel fucked up.
the not covering part, they are saying that i abused the car, they said they found some metal particles on the fluids of the car supposely coming from hig reving. like i was doin burnouts.
4th question, the district manager supposely said they not going to cover, i havent talked to her ever, the service center told me this. and about the writing they didnt give me nothing in writing

Knight7, how have you been driving your car? Honestly. We all know that this is a sports car, and we know it can rev to 9k rpm. You still arn't telling us how you've been treating the car. If you have been speed shifting in a car thats not broken in, and you have been reving the engine and dumping the clutch, you are the weak link. Not the car.

If you have been driving it right during break in, then we are all behind you. Hell, I'll call the bastards for you myself.

Have you contacted Mazda North America? Contact information is in your Owner's Manual.

Ask them why they encourage "Zoom Zoom" if they're not going to cover it in the warranty.

Zoom Zoom and beating the crap out a car are two different things.

I agree completely. But I'm skeptical of the service department's ability to determine with any certainty that that is what happened.

i baby my car i barely drove it, i drive 14 miles to go and comeback from work, no powershifting no nothing, i never downshifted hard on the car only from 4 to 3rd never downshifted 2 gears.
i told my x get the F out my car cause she came in eating doritos chips, i almost had a fight with one of my friends cause the a$$hat lean on it. i personally LOVE my car that my pride and joy, no matter how stoopid the day goes for me once i get on my Rx8 its new again. so no i did not abuse my car i never even got to drive it at 120 miles, thats why im so F#$% upset at mazda and thats why i decided to get rid of my car, cause they are full of it.

If you havent abused the car, I truely feel for you. How many miles were on the car when you bought it. Do you think that maybe someone at the dealership had been having some fun in it?

my car had 52 miles when i got it from the dealership, i didnt care much cause they told me they had to drive it from long island which is some miles away from the bronx.

one thing tho last nite checking at other cars on ebay, i was using my carfax account to check out the vin numbers on some Audi S4 and for the heck of it i put my bro inlaws toyota avalon and finally decided to put my rx8 too, it turns out the car was already in the shop twice before for unknow reasons, it just said it was on the service center. no is this normal?? cause i have 8000 miles almost and i have done 5 oil changes and none show up on car fax. im goin lemon law on them now i actually qualify for it but i really wanna keep my rx8. there is no car on the market that can match it none. besides i love my car id just go to another dealer and service center.
