tell me its not true 8k rpm voids warranty

Ok some one just told me that if you go past 8k rpm you void the rx8s warranty is this true? If not mazda has made a huge mistake in customer satisfaction! They advertise their 9k rpm so heavily!

Absolutely NOT true!

Dont sweat it, feel free to let that engine soar to 9000rpm whenever you feel the need.

Were did you hear this from? Someone must have been pulling your leg. Even if it is true, mazda wouldnt know or have any records of a person driving over 8000 rpm given the course of time.

just so you know there's a few guys here who tweak and have made an ooops her and ther and blown way past redline to 13.5k and higher and not had a problem. the engine can go well over 15k some of the racing ones do 20k. it just the rest of the drivetrain and other stuff like the belts, water pump and flywheels ( most of the "blown engines" from overrevving I have seen are flywheels that exploded ) and such that cannot take the speeds.

silver white and black blend it with all the other cars. if that's what you want buy one of them if you wanna stand out a bit go blue or green. if you want to scream look at me go red or yellow.

You'll only see these RPMs (on the street) in an 8 or a bike, so enjoy. There's not another production street car out there that has a higher red-line.

If you take it to 9k on the test drive be sure to buy a different car than the one you test drove. You really shouldn't take it that high before 1000 miles. It should be broken in properly first then you can rev her up to the buzzer. Search the forums for the proper break in procedure there are many threads on it.

One other note, I assume your planning on buying a 6 speed but just in case you are thinking automatic you should know that the auto has a different engine and redlines at 7k.
