Question Test drive questions

I havent really done many test drives before (one to be exact, the new GTO), and I was wondering how long you usually drove around for. When I went for one, the dealer didnt go with me and I drove it around for about 15-20 mins. I would like to be able to drive it for a little longer but I didnt know what was an acceptable length of time. I know this is an odd question, but I was just thinking about it earlier today and figured that I'd ask. Also, I've only driven a manual trans a few times before and I'm not really comfortable driving it yet, and I want to take the rx-8 for a test drive, but I'm afraid of messing up if I get a stick. I'm going to buy a 6 speed when I get one, but just for now I was thinking of going for a drive in the auto until I get more practice. Are they really that much different performance wise? I know in general most manual cars are a little quicker than their auto counterparts. Sorry for all the questions :D

Thanks

Time

About 20 min is a lot. I test drive mine for like 10 mins with the guy next to me
Just go again, show interest and borrow it for another 20 min... This car rocks man, buy one and welcome to the club!!!!

P.S Buy manual, it is way better. If you have another car to practice shifting that's the way to go...
