Test drove the RX8

L-O-V-E-D it! Holy crap I had so much fun with it. I could definetly tell the car was lacking in torque but it didn't bother me at all. The salesman took me onto the highway and told me to just give it some juice and I kept telling myself to just shift at redline, but I couldn't help but shift around 5-6k. I'm still used to the Accord Coupe I used to own and I believe the red line was around 6750. When I finally DID bring it to redline I couldn't help but laugh endlessly. It felt like the car could just go on forever, I think I was doing 66-67 in 2nd gear, I loved it. I dunno what the deal is yet, but I have to talk to the parents still.

Buy it. Steal from your parents if you have to, just get it done.

You know that feeling you got from the test drive?
Imagine the same feeling every drive.
Imagine the feeling when you put the mods on.
And head out for another test drive...

But you're young. Maybe you should look at a practical car, yes?

This is true man make sure you can handle it a rx8 is not cheap the payment and cost of the car are not easy and the gas is not all that good. If its your first real car i would not recomend it.

please don't get this car. It is expensive, not cheap to insure (depending on where you live) parts are expensive, and for a youngen it isn't the best choice. Sorry to be so curt but it's the truth....

Funny at all the comments I'm getting now. It's actually not expensive to insure for me, only $76 more than my Accord Coupe every 6 months. As for maintenance, well, it has the certified extended warranty, and for gas, well, can't say I care too much about gas.

Go for it. Just be responsible for your actions, on the road and in terms of financing, simple as that.

Insurance is bad for me at all. Another reason I couldn't really go with the Z or S2k.

Buy it!

Yeah I just bought mine about a month ago and I love it. The payment is less than $300.00 a month and insurance wasn't bad either. The gas isn't bad if you don't race it all the time but for the first month I couldn't help myself, it was too much fun. I'm better about it now. I've put on 3000 miles on it already. Most fun car to drive I'll never give it up.

My insurance company quoted me at $756 every 6 months, that's what, a little over $120 a month?

Insurance depends a lot upon what coverage you're getting and where you live, how many people in your household, how much you drive, any customizations, not to mention who you go through, too.

About 10 years ago at the family supper table, I made a comment to my accident-prone brother that it was people like him that caused insurance rates to be so high. He said he didn't know what I was talking about, and my father started laughing. Apparently my father's insurance company almost dropped him because my brother still lived at home and deemed a risk.
