Thank You RX8 Club.com
It's been a great 2 years with my RX-8 and countless hours on this forum. I had 26 months of trouble free ownership.
I have finally decided to get one vehicle for all four seasons instead of playing the "winter beater" game and looking at my rx-8 in the garage for four months. I absolutely loved my RX8 and will miss it greatly.
I had a first run pre order with an early VIN (0926). The anticipation for this vehicle in the summer of 2003 was very high and this forum was a place to get some sanity during the eager wait. When "East Moon" brought his Lightning yellow home.... it was a exciting moment to say the least.
Never flooded, no problems to speak of except for one minor clutch issue. I would by another in a second if I could afford to have 2 new vehicles.
I have met some geat people in my area through the form (you know who you are...) and gained alot of knowledge from the forum members. Thanks again!

Aww... sad to hear you're going!
But really, have you considered just buying snow tires, instead of an entire CAR, every winter? If my old '97 Miata could make it through 3 harsh Indiana winters without getting stuck (and handling beautifully, i might add), I'm sure the 8 will do just fine. I have my new wheels/snow tires at the house now, ready to throw on at the first sign of snowfall.

I have thought about the winter tire option, but never really wanted to drive it in the winter all that much. In the mean time I have aquired a Kayak and a Mountain bike. I like to camp and go skiing. An SUV was going to be an almost unavoidable option with those activities on the rise. I got an 05 Pathfinder. One side note is that everyone assumed I was getting great gas milage with a small foreign car, and as we all know that isint all that true. I will be interested to see how the gas compares. The sticker on the Pathfinder is 15/21.
One thing I already miss is the handling and braking. Of course I knew that would be lost with almost any other car, but it feels like stopping a Tiger Tank when I come to a red light comprared to the RX8.
Life's a compromise. Enjoy the "little things".

Stick around and come down to one of the New England meets anyway! Best of luck in your future endeavors! My friend just bought a huge kayak, but he's braving it with a roofrack on his STI
