Be thankful you didn't rupture it. I did that when I was a teen. Needed surgery and a cast for weeks. Good times.

Better get someone that you trust to at least drive you around to get your zoom zoom fix. Get well soon.

Sorry to hear that. I broke a bone in my hand in several places 8 weeks ago and it's sucking all the fun out of summer. I still need another surgery and several months of PT before I can do jack squat with it. Not nearly as bad as your situation, but I know it sucks to be out of sorts for the summer.

Guess that's one benefit of an auto tranny -- I can still drive it.

Thanks. I tore it while playing basketball. I was playing my friend one-on-one. I won the first game and started the second. As I started to drive to the left, I heard the snap and went down. The funny thing was that I was looking for the basketball that was beamed into my heel. When I didn't see a ball, I knew what happened. It was completely snapped, and I just had the surgery to repair it this morning.

Believe it or not, I actually drove my car to the emergency room! The car is that forgiving to drive! I obviously did not drive it home, though. My friend brought it home in one piece for me.

I tore mine back in 1994 playing racquetball. Same kind of thing, I had won the match and we were just goofing around and I pushed off my right foot to go for a ball and heard the snap. No warning like soreness or anything and it wasn't even a hard push off. I had a manual Ford Probe GT (with that wild and wooly turbo four that had torque steer you wouldn't believe) and drove it home. Played again after the cast came off and rehab but was never able to get back to quite the same level of play, just a hair slower which makes a big difference in that game.
