Is there a Turbo for 04 Rx-8 AT?

only took a couple seconds to search for it, but here's a thread about it:

For 6k you can trade your automatic in for a manual. I think there was only one person on here who posted about putting a turbo on their automatic. It only cut his 0-60 down to the mid 6s or something like that, which is still slower than what the manual is capable of with a "proper" launch. I think that guy just bought the regular GReddy turbo for the manual and got it to work on his automatic, so 6k is probably the total amount you would spend including the installation and tune. As far as I know he does not post on here anymore.
But anyway I highly advise that you swap your car for manual if you are seriously considering spending that much money to make your automatic faster. If you swap the car, you'll still have a warranty too.
I just dug up this old thread for you about the only guy on here who installed this on his automatic:

Funny reading my old posts about how excited I was, back when I still had my automatic

well ive only heard of one guy who got his auto tuned by scott i think. there is also the guy with the RE-Amemiya turbo. but really there doesnt seem to be many worth while options out for autos let alone Mts either.
jerky, not a bad point on the trade in. the price for the gains is nice and so is the warrenty. but still for some they are stuck with an auto for what ever reason.
in the case of being stuck/want an auto there are a couple of supercharger kits that are for the 4-port (hymee) or can be slightly modded to be used on an auto(axial flow Rp).

don't get hung up on 0-60 times.
Turbo or supercharge an auto 8 and you'll be faster in most other real world categories (than a non-FI 6MT). The 0-60 will suffer because you can't launch like a MT can. If you compared 5-60, 20-40, 50-70 etc times you'd see the difference. Trade-in on 8's is in the toilet, particularly AT 8's. You'd be lucky to get into a manual for 6k in my opinion. For that, and a little (a lot?) of waiting you can have yourself a Pettit supercharger, torque, and some asthetic mods. Or you could have a new 6MT 8 and still want more power. The only reason I see to go to the 6MT is if you really want the transmission, otherwise it's a waste of money. Now if you didn't have an 8 at all, my opinion would probably be flip-flopped.

i'm a f** because i know how to drive stick? the 8 isn't a 1/4 mile racer. if that's what you wanted, you'd be better off selling the 8 and getting something that you can stoplight race with. but you might want to get someone to teach you how to work a clutch pedal first.
i love you.

I've laid eyes on the petit supercharger. BUT it was a prototype and is not finished AND that charger WAS in an auto. Talk to Petit, they might want another car for prototype purposes as they are still working on things. I'm not sure where you are located, but just talk to them. ALSO, talk to Devoid as he has a 15% off coupon for the petit supercharger that he was trying to sell for a really good price because he can't get that supercharger under his hood with all the fancy blinkies he's got.

Wonder why many FI kits are lowering the redline on the 6port?
