Are these Mazda accessories useful/good/worth having?

(Did a search, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.)

I'm getting splash guards, but I'm also thinking about ordering this other Mazda stuff. Anyone have any of these? If so, what are your thoughts?

(If you bought any of these cargo things, do you actually use them? What for?)
• Cargo Net
• Collapsible Cargo Carrier
• Cargo Tray

• Rear Door Trim Protectors (Does the trim get scuffed up without 'em?)
• Driver & Passenger Footwell Lights
• Aluminum Door Sill Trim Plates

Thanks!

i have the cargo tray that goes in the sunken part of the trunk and has a cover on it... i like that it then makes the trunk floor completely flat and gives me a nice concealed place to store an emergency kit, some towels, and a basic set of tools

I have the cargo net and find it very useful to keep smaller things from rolling around in the back or when I buy groceries, heh.
I had a cargo tray (organizer) which was nice but had to sell it because my amp is sitting in the trunk recess.
The rear door trim protectors are really unnecessary IMO.
The aluminum door sill plates look nice but the total turnoff for me was the fact that instead of clips like the factory door sill, they are held in place with double-sided tape. Also, I'd be worried about them getting scratches easier than the plastic ones and those would also be more unsightly I think.

As far as the cargo stuff, if you dont need it, then dont get it. It's just that simple.

Three37NY:

I installed the F/R splash guards and love the look on my Black 8. My 8 also came with the cargo net. I wouldn't have bought it after the fact, but it does come in handy to hold my quick detailer and some microfiber towels. I also bought the cargo try an love how it makes the trunk floor completly flat and you can store some bigger items in the tray. I also bought the rear trim protectors. Not sure if I needed them, but better to be safe than sorry, plus they have the RX-8 logo on them. Lastly I have the red footwell lights. Again not a necessity, but looks nice at night to match the red console lights. I was thinking about the aluminum door trim plates but can't justtify the price and would be worried they would get scratched. Maybe I'll buy a set AFTER the oem ones have seen a better day

Thanks for the feedback, everyone—keep it coming. Hearing your opinions gives me a much better idea of what to get—and what not to get.

I've got the splash guards, and they do work well IMO. May I suggest the front air dam also(if you don't already have it). Mine looked a little off with just the guards, so I added the front air dam as well. I don't have any of the cargo stuff. Didn't really see the need for it. You'll probably find some great deals on that stuff here in the vendor forum instead of buying through the Mazda dealer.
