Number one complaint for me is the squealing brakes. I hear them everyday despite the dealership polishing/cleaning the discs. Think it's time to force them to change the front ones. Other is rattles, I don't have many but I hear a small one once in a while but it always goes away.

Other then that, I'm happy with the rest of the car.

1. Colder A/C
2. Don't run the coolant through the throttle body (if this really does cause heat issues)
3. Better seat warmers (if it's not really cold outside, my wife's 4Runner's seats get almost too hot
4. Better paint
5. More factory 18" wheel design options
6. Better construction to alleviate rattles
7. A non-integreated radio.....what were you thinking?
8. Get rid of the cheap B Pillar accents (piano black, or just leave it the color of the car)
9. Rear view mirror that doesn't squeak
10. Find a way to the reinforce structural integrity without the center console that takes up all that room, or at least make it out of quality materials
11. Give U.S. customers all of the same options you provide the other markets with
12. And last but not least, better fuel mileage

All of the above, but my main beefs are
1) the ventilation, where in order for your feet to be warm, the AC has to be on, and in cold weather it takes forever for the car to warm up. The Mazda 6 warms up in a minute, but this is probably a rotary limitation.
2) cupholders are useless for their intended purpose, but great for my cell phone
3) the plastic on the door sills. Mine is all scratched and I'm very careful.
4) move the moonroof forward
2) the AC

Yeah, right. I did that. The brake squeal is a lot worse now than it was before.

yeah ive done the brake tsb 2x and im still squealing-

as for other changes:

minor, but nonetheless-

better defroster-

adjust climate switches so you don't have to cycle through all options to get the one you want (i.e., currently you have to push it to cycle through, which often means 2-4 pushes depending on where you are- as opposed to just 'selecting' the vent option you want, sometimes in that cycle you turn on defrost for a second, which turns on the AC etc...)

-transmission behavior in cold weather is a bit wacky

-real oil gauge

Rough idle! I hate driving in stop and go traffic. (aparently this is normal they told me at mazda )

Brake squeal. This can be fixed easly at the next service.

Some minor rattles. On rough roads only.

Tire noise from those stock Potenzas.

Better gas mileage (but then again I was expecting this)

A little creaking from the drivers seat (only when i'm getting in).

A bit more treble from the Bose sound system.

Apart from that I adore my baby so much!

1.) deeper cup holders so the console lid can close with a 12oz soda
2.) find somewhere else for the cup holders so my arm doesnt hit drinks while shifting
3.) better MPG...duh
4.) add a 'transform into a giant robot' feature
5.) useful oil pressure gauge

Definitely.

I must say, though, I don't know what you squeaking-brake people are talking about, my brakes are utterly silent.

Here's my list...

1. RP Short Shifter & Voodoo Pearl Magnum **** should be stock, they are awesome.

2. Cup holders do not accomodate the thinner energy drink, and I don't like getting Mt. Dew on my elbow while driving.

3. More lumbar support, I love lumbar support.

4. 2-din headunit, we all know everybody wants to replace their stock headunit...why fight it?

5. The car is very light, the rear tires break loose a little too easy, I would go with all wheel drive. (Of course you would loose the fun of the rear wheel drive)

6. Better gas millage would be nice, but horsepower and gas millage don't go together. (see #6)

7. More horsepower, perhaps a turbo?

8. If I remember correctly, the driver's window is one-touch, but only down...I think you have to hold it to put it up. (I could be mistaken).

9. How about those bad-*** 5 star safety belts...

10. A nice alarm, and do-away with the stupid horn honk lock thing, make a sound...but not that...

1.Stiffer suspension
2.Quicker steering
3.Taller 6th gear
4.Deeper seats

Those things could have actaully been different, unlike more torque, better gas milage ....

Cold weather seems to be a factor.

Um, I live in Boston. It's hardly tropical here.

Things I haven't seen mentioned yet:

- a more durable interior that isn't marred so easily.
- taller dipstick tube.

Well the gas pedal needs to fit to the right of the brake pedal and as it is now it's pressed pretty well against the center tunnel. My size 13s already rub the carpet. Also, the pedals are currently placed well for heel and toe shifting (IMHO).

Mine:

1. Cupholder placement (especially when the shoulder support of the seat is right where I wanna bend my arm to reach for my drink)
2. Sliding mechanism of the cup-holder-cover. Everytime I brake it slams shut, but I want it open, dammit!
3. Accessibility of the center compartments in general. The suck.
4. Steering wheel controls: want power & scan buttons for the radio too.
5. Trunk opening needs to be just a wee bit bigger.
6. Rotary accent in the seat - I'm short (5'-0"), and its fine when driving, but if I wanna recline the seat, my head rests right in the indent. Ow! I'd prefer a rotary symbol just stitched into the seat or something.
7. Power rear windows - I don't wanna have to stop the car every time I want to open & close them.
8. One touch up and down for both windows, PLEASE!
9. Single-disc MP3 CD player would be preferred over 6-disc CD player.
10. Non-rotary=shaped shifter. Sorry, but I don't find this comfortable at all.

That's all the minor things. The major things we all know what they are. And the fuel economy became painfully obvious this weekend when my BF and I drove his 350Z to Vegas from San Diego. I barely hit 350 miles per tank, and he can get like 400 on a 20 gallon tank. Bugger.

<-- This is here just cause I think it's funny.
