This IS an option you can order

Being that the RX-8 has a 15.9 gallon tank as opposed to 20 on the 350Z, you get better gas mileage than him: 22 mpg on the 8 as opposed to 20 mpg on the 350Z, that's calculated from your figures, but I'm sure the 350 actually gets a bit better gas mileage.

I don't even own an 8, but from looking at them quite a few times in the showroom, the one thing that I'd love for them to fix by the time I get one is the crappy trunk opening, just split the rear lights in 2 parts (they're ugly enough anyway, the 8 is positively ugly from behind and it's their fault)

The one thing that I noticed, was that when i let a friend drove my car, I sat in the front passenger seat and it has no leg room. I had to move my feet to the right side b/c of the little bump coming from the left.

- Better gas mileage.
- A small open bin on the console for change and the like
- Power opening rear windows.
- A compass on the mirror
- An option for performance all season tires.
- A little louder stock exhaust with 3.5” doubled walled tips.
- A quieter HVAC fan, quicker heat in winter.
- Raise the rear view mirror; mine blocks my vision to cars coming towards me from the right.
- Real oil press gauge and an oil temp gauge.
- Easier dip stick
- Larger sunroof.
- BETTER GAS MILEAGE!!!!!!!!! 11.5mpg is not cutting it.

-gas mileage
-brake squeal
-bose stereo kills me...jesus. i don't mind having proprietary head unit if the sound system was any good...dynaudio maybe? levinson? doesn't have to be 16 speakers, but just 6 decent ones at least...then again this is a 30k car.

There is a change slot on the left side, near the trunk release. I use it all the time, and it works great!

The rear view mirror can be moved up and out of the way without impeding its functionality.

Brilliant! Yes, that's just what we need, I'm totally on board. I wouldn't mind the accidental trunk opens if I didn't have to be Paul Drake to discover them.

Real Oil pressure gauge
Stronger center console
Better AC
Better driver's seat, am I the only one that feels like they're falling out no matter what the seat position?

Nothing really big, I might switch to a Sparco seat later but I can live with all the problems for now.

They could just wire the trunk open indicator into the door open light... that would work.

I think I could definately go with more torque (i have eaten up a few cars around here though, so it can do for now).
Gas mileage - but low is expected.

It could REALLY use a telescopic steering wheel. My seating position would be absolutely perfect if the steering wheel were closer.

Do the new ones have it?

I love this car. But since you asked:
1) real oil pressure gauge

OEM stuff you can get abroad but not here:
2) headlight washers
3) rear fog light

4) Easier-to-read indexes on the fan and temp controls. (At night, it's hard to tell at a glance where they're set)
5) XM rather than Sirius (I like baseball)
6) OEM Nav (I have a Shinka), and ability to watch DVD's on it while parked (without me having to rewire anything)
7) Better sounding Bose (or other) factory stereo. (The only Bose products I've liked are the tabletop Wave radio and their noise-cancelling headphones. Everything else has been mediocre.)
8) Side mirrors with built-in signal lights (like new VWs)

I wish my side mirrors had auto dimming like the rear view does and I love that feature.

My air condition cools very well. My seat heater works and warms up really well.

I HATE THE CUP HOLDER PLACEMENT!!!!!

Gas mileage isn't too bad. I got 19 MPG on my first tank, which I was happy with since I killed it and had to restart it a whole bunch. Of course, it also had periods of running and idling because everyone just had to hear my engine. LOL This was in 50/50 city/highway conditions.

Check with your local speed shop and see if they carry steering wheel spacers - that might fit the bill.
