thinking about buying an 04

i test drove a 6 speed rx8 and loved it!! but ive read alot of reviews and i was just wounding if all the problems have been taken care of, and what things i could do to make sure the reliability stays good? thank you

04 has the most instances of issues - but that may be more because of the larger # of 04s out there and the fact that they have more miles on them the later mod.years.

carfax - check for recalls, problems, etc. Then compare to 05s if you can.

If you're stretching your budget a bit and need a really reliable car then you should skip the RX-8.

I'd pass on the '04s. Like many first-year models, lots of teething problems.
