thinking about getting an rx-8

Hey guys whats goin on? I currently have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and I like it alot but I want something thats a little more fun to drive and I love the way the rx-8s look and Ive heard some good things about them. Ive never drove one tho and I have some quick questions about them. How quick are these I know they arent gonna smoke everything out there but does it move pretty good. The other thing Im worried is if Im gonna be able to handle the lack of cargo space I just want to be able to fit my golf clubs in the trunk, is there anyway the I would be able to do that and fit a small subwoofer box in the trunk cuz if so it would be a done deal. Thanks guys

Golf clubs fit in the trunk. They fit even better in the back seat. But if you need a back seat to take yourself and 3 other golfers, . . . . . . 4 golf bags will not fit in the trunk.

It's quick. Compared to your Jeep it will feel like a rocket.

These things are quite cargo friendly. When I was fired from my last job I had a six foot fica tree in my office. I cleaned out my office and grabbed the fica and with the passenger seat fully reclined it fit perfect.

If straight line stoplight racing is your bag, this isn't your car. If everything else matters (except fuel mileage) this is your car.

Test drive will answer the "how quick/how does it drive" questions best. But like Joel said - it's not a torque machine, and won't be blasting off from lights when compared to other sports cars. But overall ride quality is outstanding. It's incredibly smooth and generates plenty of power from 6 - 9k rpm.

Obviously the cargo space is quite limited (esp. compare to a jeep) but there's enough space w/the suicide doors to fit just about anything you need to cart around.

MANUAL!!!!!!
You get an auto and you will regret it. Even though the new auto is great, with the 6 port engine . . . Manual is way more fun to drive. And to me . . . 'fun to drive' is what this car is all about

Manual is a must....even if you're not very good at driving manual. One weekend and you'll have it down cold. (Stalling out a few times makes for very embarrassing moments, which accelerates the learning process ) More power, more control, and more fun can be found in a manual versus the automatic.
