You mean something like this?
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/

Or this?
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-section-category-alphabetically-101998/

Don't wanna come across wrong, but not sure how much better a different site would be from these.

sounds like a fun project.
if you do it, make sure you put up a thread in our DIY section with links to your site.

Do a DIY for your DIY site too!

I think it is a great idea to have a site where you can host the pictures, half of the pics in the diys get lost after imageshack/whatever takes them down.

you could make a tool on the website that paints my rims for free from the computer, thatd be a neat website. Also a multimedia section and i think an rx8 chat room that actually worked on the page would be cool because all of the ones posted are fail

I would prefer a separate site, where everything is a lot more accessible. For example, each DIY could be an article format, and comments can be done like how most article reply systems are. That alone would help clean up a lot of DIYs.

Also, having the ability to manipulate the webpage (move around pictures, add videos in the appropriate sections, etc) would assist in the flow of the DIY. Sometimes I get so confused when people post multiple parts of the DIY in one post, or if they don't separate it correctly.

I also think that having an article format, where a mod or someone could look through each DIY and see if it's been done before, correct parts that are wrong, and integrate new with old would be great. I'd definitely contribute to this sort of site, as I haven't done much modifications with my car, but will soon (oil change in about 2 weeks!).

I would definitely support a DIY site if you were to do one, rodjonathon.

My blog has helped ALLOT of people.

Not everyone knows about this forum. I get loads of search engine traffic for all types of terms.

I dont make money on my blog but I enjoy working on it and when I sell my car the new owner will have a full history.

Do it and link us all to it

On an entirely unrelated note, I clicked this thread because I was having a moment where my eyes werent working right for some reason, and I thought the title was "Thinking about putting up a dirty site". If you get the urge, that could be cool too.

I totally agree. I checked out your blog the other day. It's really clear and well layed out. Is the design your own?
