these 4 colors are easily mass faves: 1.silver 2.white 3.black 4.red

i like winning blue but it is now replaced by stormy blue which is waaay darker.
titanium gray looks really good also but replaced by galaxy gray which is also darker and changes hue

honestly, in the end it's still gonna be your car besides the 8 looks amazing in any color.

IMO black is the hottest color for the 8. But it's also the toughest to keep clean.

plz forget about TS, LS, that sad green, blue. the only color a sports car looks good on its red. however, the black and white ones look real good on it. but there is something about red with red/black that overtake the rest.

Odd... If you look at all the wrecked 8's. The majority of them are SS???

To the OG poster, When we got our first 8 back in 2004. The dealer had ever color on the lot in a line. We looked at them all and found that WB was the best!
Go to a dealer and give that a try. Look around at the diff colors and see what you like!

I kept hearing that, but it didn't ring true from what I'd personally seen. Then when I did a Web search using the terms "RX-8", "wrecks", "images", it was clear that SS was not an obvious majority. And the New Zealand study further killed the "curse". So now I'm convinced it was just something that started out as a joke, and took on a life of it's own. Like alligators in the sewers.

I really like my black cherry mica (which appears black in lower lighting), but it requires constant cleaning, as with any black car. And it contributes to the interior getting a lot hotter in Summer.

Silver looks clean even when it's not (which is why I chose that color for my daughter's Mazda6), and it stays cooler inside. The only downside to silver is that there are so many out there, across all makes of sportscars.

Yellow with black rims and tinted windows looks really good and is very unique. If you want your car to be noticed instantly and stand out yellow is the way to go.

White looks the most exotic on the 8. Just looks mean with a nice kit and dark tints. I would actually say many members on this forum wish they went with a white car instead of there color after seeing some of the white ones posted.

But hey, dont go for white! it makes the whites that much more rare on the road!

PS: I see tons of Reds / Blues and Blacks. Surprisingly in my area not so many silvers.

i had no i idea about the Nordic green, or Stormy blue colors before coming to this board. those two colors look really nice.

stormy blue (guessing it is a 2008 color still), used norid green, very close to black if lighting is right sometimes...a cool color indeed. maybe that anniversy color for 08 if buying new.

though like the other poster said...if you love black then black it should be just be ready and willing to wash often.

When a car is first shown to the press and on TV commercials, a single color is chosen to highlight the car's introduction. This is the color the manufacturer thinks best exemplifies the shape, attitude, overall target buyer's desires, etc., and you will usually see that color on the brochure cover for the intro year. For the 2004 RX-8, that color was Velocity Red. They were pushing the yellow in the press materials as well.

What I like about the VR color is the gold flake that when under direct sunlight makes the red take on a whole new shade. The downside is that the color is very hard to match after a fender bender (as are most metalic paints). Dark colors are easier to match (black, green).

Silvers are harder to see, so get into more crashes (all other factors being equal), white is safest...
