The UK test rates the 197hp engine (theirs is 192ps) as having achieved 6.9 seconds 0-60mph. Check attached pic. This is the first time I saw the 190+ hp rotary engine hitting below 7.

yep, its the 5 speed tranny. dream on if anyone thinks they can achieve that with the automatic here in the US.

ayap usuallyI dont take sides w/trolls like Ike but in this case I have readsome of the bullshit you have been writing in other posts regarding the auto Rx8 and you are clearly just being a stubborn fool.

Its easily understandable why people are able to get to 60 in 6.9 seconds w/the 197hp engine in the UK: they can obviously drop the CLUTCH @ 7000 RPM when launching w/their MANUAL transmissions.
Even if youwere to perform a neutral slam w/the automatic from 7000 RPM you stillwouldnt come close to 6.9 seconds. Infact you do that enough timesyoull eventually screw up yourentire tranny.

I really dontunderstand whatyour obsession is w/trying to prove that the automatic is fast. It washard for me at first butnow that Ive owned my automatic for over a year Ive acceptedthe simple fact that ourautomatics are not fast at all -- andthe only time you could ever hope to take the WRX that Ike owns is while his car is turned off at a parking lot. Ifyou care so muchabout having a fast dragster youshouldnt have bought an Rx8 in the first place - let alone in automatic.

 

if your a nascar driver why the hell would you buy an automatic car. You should know how to drive a manual. You should know that a manual is a lot quicker than an auto. So dont brag about having an auto when everyone knows that the manual is faster than the auto.
