For those of you disappointed about the 05 key I found something even better

Guys I found a very cool spinning rotary keychain on eBay last week. It has a replica rotor housing w/a rotor actually spins around in the exact sameway they do in our cars. UnfortunatelyI didnt win the friggin bid butluckily the seller on there is theactual maker of this thing and has a lotmore of them. It just came in today and Im not that big on key chains butthis thing isactually nicer than I expected its actually reflective - camepackaged in a small gift box really clean. It was a little pricey for a keychain but holidays are right around thecorner so I figured what thehell.

Since I gave up on acquiring an 05key for my Rx8 I tookthat money and spent it on this instead. Idont regret it at all. PersonallyI think this spinning rotor chain is more impressive than a remote w/a popout key. NowI can actually show people what a rotary engine does whenthey look at melike a moron and ask "uh.. whatdo you mean it has no cylinders?"

I dontwant to get in trouble for posting this so Im notgoing to provide a link to thepage - but ifyou search on eBay for "rx8 keychain" or "spinning rotor" somethinglike that youshould see it. The guys email is there too ifyou want to talk w/him directly b/che makes other less expensive rotary keychains too.

Heres a pic of what mine lookslike - I boughtone in nickel finish. Im surprised Mazda didnt include something like this w/every Rx8 key set.

EDIT --For thoseof you whoalready knew about this sorry for postingabout it again

autoart sells one for about $10 that I like better. You can also find it on ebay. Basically there is a turntable on the back that you spin, which turns the gear, which then turns the rotor. The one you saw costs 3x as much, and there is no gear that spins the rotor, it instead turns by sliding around the housing..
