I read your list of stuff in your sig, and I've got to say, if you paid $60k for it then you've been had.

Its a shame that with money...humility and common courtesy does not follow...

Now that you've seen HOW to drive with both hands in an MT...you have NO excuse to not do so in your AT...oh wait...its "your" car and you'll put other drivers at risk whenever you feel like it...

I can't say I agree with Taj's assertment that the MT won't pull away until 4th gear. I was thinking it should be more like 4k in first gear. I guess even that was too generous to the AT.
Do you even know what a torque converter does? Do you comprehend how it works?

If not I advise you to look it up before making yourself appear even more foolish than you already have.

Regarding MT vs AT… while some with MTs drive hard and fast, many who choose MTs like to think they drive hard and fast, or fantasize about driving hard and fast someday, but… they don't. They drive casually, and while you may think they have no business owning an RX-8, guess what… they enjoy their 8 in their own way as much as anyone else. Like the guy who owns a Ferrari that never sees triple digits. Sports cars are, depending on the owner, a small—or large—part fantasy, and for some, just having MT is cool, even if they drive like a little old lady. For the "I'm not goin' anywhere in a hurry" driver, there's not much of a difference between MT and AT. And for the guy who spends most of his time crawling along the Santa Monica Freeway twice a day, five days a week, the AT just might be, dare I say it… better.

Heh...your right about that...if I had to do that, I might as well walk...since it would be the same amount of leg work with all that clutching...

Okay, so essentially the dealer tacked a bunch of crap on like the "gold package" and had you pay $41k for it. Not a particularly good deal, and you're still about $20k short of that 'vette, and about $40k away from a viper. But that's chump change for a big shot like you.

Lawyer eh? Watch out for those "Honey I gotta work late" calls. Staring all day at the under-writers and legal assistants with their uptight power suit and bunched up hair.... Sorry can't resist. Too much reruns of Ally McBeal.

You're very confused. Torque converters in just about every stock car on the planet do nothing but slough off speed and make them slower out of the hole and slower in general when compared to an MT.

Wow, dealers love people like you... Extended warranty and things like "rust inhibitor" along with some overpiced options like a body kit. Then to top it all off you actually believe you got all kinds of stuff for "free".

Give it a rest...

Think before you post... I wanted and requested the gold pkg. and the extended warranty. I plan on keeping my car.

Lets see you try to get all of that! I went in with a list of what I wanted and walked out with that and even more... No one can understand the savings I got including the sales people at the dealership who I personally know. They told me the dealership didn't profit much on my car. Thank you!

[I got don't pay for 5 months-no fees were charged to me, 1000 cash back, $3500 Free Performance Pkg. and free oil changes for 1 year-at my request! They tell everyone that they never make any $$ on the car...its called salesmanship...

But if it makes you feel better...then by all means go ahead and feel better...

I was going to continue to fix it...but gave up...

Look at the amount and figure out the installation charges of the CAI and the MS bumper and so on. I wasn't charged for these things and this is where they lost.

I also got a cheque for $1000 which I wasn't suppose to get. It was either 5months no payment or that. And to top all that off I got the free oil changes and $3500 in free upgrades on top of what I requested. Lets not forget no GST or PSt-no tax!

Bottom line ... I know the owner and this is why I got these savings!! Didn't have to sleep with anyone either!!

You got your payments deffered for 5 months, you are not saving that money... You only got 4k off MSRP for a leftover 2006 model in 2007, they made money on your car alone and then made thousands more from all the options you added.
