Thread flood by "new" RX8 owners!

Is it just me or has there been a recent surge in new threads created by individuals have have just bought a "new" RX8??

Seems to me that all of the 2004 models which were on 4 year leases are now coming up for sale as the original owners have returned them at the end of their leases. We've now got a crap storm of new threads asking the same questions over and over again.

Guess we'll have to buckle down and ride out the storm! Hope we survive...

It happens- we're no longer a new car forum, and the original owners have moved on.

Look at rx7club.com. People are still asking why their car floods/poor mpg/etc.

Don't worry as people keep calling them n00bs and making fun of them for asking questions they will soon figure out this is not a very friendly forum and maybe they should go to another one.
Who knows maybe someday you will have nothing to read but each others post and then everyone will get bored and go somewhere else.
That way you will not have to worry about the board getting to full or using too much bandwidth. It can just die a slow death while people move to a more friendly board.

Careful what you ask for, you might get it.

Why should it? People keep buying these cars and want to learn more. They want to hook up with other owners.

Veterans here should not feel compelled to answer questions, or to chew out newcomers who ask familiar ones. There should be a passing of the baton. I think those of us who learned from the first wave of members are happy to reply to the next generation.

Until we get bored...then the next generation will become the mentors.

It's the cycle of life, like in Bambi. (The book, not the movie.)

whitebeau, TheKDog is an octogenarian who has been driving rotaries since before you were born. He's joking.

Talking :p

wasn't sure, I figured i'd offer the info at the sametime incase it was a valid question.... I once received a Customer Service call from a Narcoleptic... let's say it was an interesting 40 minutes. In the end he was wondering why I called him..

gnite!

edit:
i just looked up 'octogenarian'... TheKDog... is that in dog years?

Last edited by whitebeau; 02-18-2008 at 02:37 AM. Reason: i googled octogenarian ....

While the same questions over and over are annoying, the absolute WORST is the dumb kids that run around going

"16/own an rx8/tips"
"i just turned 16 and got this car. what's different about the rotary engine?

It's so annoying.

LOL! He's close to 81, by my reckoning, and our most revered, senior member.
