The thread where....

I introduce myself and provide fuztupnz with evidence of my RX-8 R3 ownership

I've been an RX-8 owner for about a year and a 3 months now; bought a brand new 2009 RX-8 R3 in July 2009. I've got about 12,500 miles on it now, and I mainly use it for weekend driving, and it is garaged anytime it's not being used. I had mentioned in the original thread I posted in that I had stumbled across this site while trying to figure out how common the sun visors breaking was. Needless to say it appears I am not alone. Anyways, hoping to pick up some info along the way and it appears I'm in good hands for that.

It does exist

Welcome again my friend.

1 <3 R3's

Tons of info here. Enjoy the site. The hottest girl part 2 thread is a great place to start, as well as the Hot wives/Girlfriends thread.

I guess there's car related info on here too that's pretty good

Happy revving!

Welcome, friend!

Good to have another R3 owner around.

I see that yours is a weekend car. Mine happens to be my DD, and I'm expecting to rack up 15k miles a year on my baby.

I haven't run into the sun visor issue yet, so I better leave it alone and not try to figure out what you're talking about lol.

Anyways, happy to have you on board.

Haha yeah, I was so pissed on Saturday when I put the visor down and heard that plastic 'snap' sound. It appears to be a rather shitty design judging by the amount of people that were experiencing it also. New ones that the dealer installed yesterday seem better than the original ones I had, so here's hoping.

Thanks for the warm greeting peoples.

Well, being in Florida and using the car as a daily driver, I use my visors every day to hold up the sunshade. My sunvisor broke on my 2005 within about 3-4 months of getting the car brand new.
Since it's been replaced, it's been fine for over 4 years now.
Just a datapoint for you.
If you ever got a look at the insides of it, you'd see it's a pretty crappy design.

I didn't get a chance to look at mine Mazurfer, but I did see the design from the DIY thread I found on here and yeah it looks pretty damn shitty. I can definitely tell a difference between the new ones and my originals. The originals will snap pretty severely when I would fold them up or down about half way during the move.

The ones have some resistance but not that violent snapping. I just assumed the snapping was just the norm, but I suspect they might have been crap from the beginning. Small world with you being in Indialantic, I grew up in Melbourne and my grandparents lived in Indialantic. Good times.

Small world indeed.

Was born in Melbourne, many, many moons ago but have always lived beachside

I was also in Tampa and lived on Fletcher Ave while going to school. Worked in Temple Terrace on Busch.
