Ticket for clear corners with blue LEDs
So it happened today! I was taking a leisurely cruise to the local BK to get some grub when the local PD pulls right beside me on a red light (I was in the left turn lane). The light turns green and I make my left turn when I hear a screech and then the lights go on behind me. After I pull over in the next parking lot, the guy approaches the car and says he pulled me over for the blue side markers. I politely stated that I thought the lights only had to be amber if used as turn signals but he said that wasn't the case. He walked all around the car, asked for the usual license, registration and insurance and then wrote me up for the side markers and missing front license plate. He did let me go for the plate cover in the back which he said was Illegal but he didn't mind since it was clear.
I am a little upset because the blue side markers went really well with the blue LED interior and the blue RR footwells.
Has anybody received the same ticket and were you able to fight it? I really thought the blue side markers were legal. Thoughts??

Did you not expect to get pulled over sooner or later? Blue or red lights(with the exception of brake lights..) on the outside of a car are illegal. Just get white LED's. Don't bother fighting it.

It may suck, but your lights are illegal. I've run my car before without the front license plate and been pulled over and ticketed(Missouri). You have to pay to play, it may suck but you cannot blame the cop for doing his job.

In california its typically a fix it ticket, go to a cop show you fixed it and he signs it off then you pay a small fee when the court date comes. I dont know other states but thats what went down out there. I would just pop them in when your doing a show or drive and swap them back, dont drive around at night with them thats for sure.

Your opinion of the cop doesn't matter and telling the judge/magistrate he's just an ******* will only get you in more trouble.. He's right, you're wrong. Federal law is very clear that you CANNOT use blue lights on the exterior of your car. Blue lights are for police, and police only. If you contest this ticket and keep using blue LED's you could be arrested for impersonating a police officer.
Cops are such ******** making people obey the law. I mean seriously. It's almost as if they think it's their job to hassle people who are breaking the law.

heres my addon for cops being asses/unfair. I had blue corners for about year and was wondering when i was going to get pulled over for them knowing good and well they were illegal. I have to be at work by 0500 so needless to say every car on the road at 0430 is suspect to what the hell are you doing on the roads at this hour by every officer coming and going. So while on the freeway with Mr. Law beside me for a good 5 min he finally decided to pull me over and inform me that my lights were illegal and that he wanted to just check me out ingeneral because of the time and general assoiation people driving such modded cars. When he found out i work for an ambulance company he quickly tells me i needed to tag my car with a emt identification sticker (the green line sticker) that would allow others to know i who I was and he would never have pulled me over. fair for one is fair for all not just because i work somewhere or know someone. though I do apprecite not getting a ticket it's annoying what some folks get away with for no real reason at all.

Officer did his job. Your fault for not abiding by the law. Quit crying about it and grow a pair.
If you didn't know they were illegal when pulled over, you sure do now. Lesson learned, move on with life

check your local laws. white may be illegal too and you'll be running the same risk as the blue. it won't stand out as much but if it's illegal and the cop wants to pull you over, you have no basis for complaining.
