How fast has everyone gone in their 8? i just got mine over the weekend and am breaking it in before I open it up and see what it will do.....Whats the top speed according to the car mags?

Definitely more "under the pedal" as I have seen 138 before I ran out of room on the track. :D

 

I saw Mazda RX-8 propaganda in their waiting room that noted the max speed in 5th gear as 150 MPH, and 150 MPH in 6th gear as well.

 

130mph, and it wasnt WOT

 

142 mph on the 5 freeway around 3'clock in the morning. It still felt stable altough the last 8 mph took a while to get to. Although my friend in the passenger seat about **** herself when I told her how fast we were going. But it was her idea she even got her partner to check for cars ahead of us as well as stake out the area for week to see the best time to do it. I love having high way patrol officers as friends. :p

 

Been up to 141mph right at 8700rpm in 5th gear.

 

The magazine I read said top speed was limited to 148 mph by an electronic governer and that it would reach this speed in both 5th and 6th gear.

150 tops in 6th gear we where racing a honda

 

are rx8 has the ms front end and cf hood and wing.

 

I also just got mine also going nice and easy....but on one of the three test drives I took...I had the sales man gripping as I ran up to 140.........Every shift was at 9000rpm never did make it into 6th.... late evning test drives are the best...... :-O
