i bought my velocity red "8" on october 5th of 2004. almost three months later and it's still a blast to drive and i can't keep the smile off my face. i have 2400 miles on the clock. it still has the new smell inside and new car finish on the outside as it doesn't get driven when it's raining or below 30 degrees.(fahrenheit)
it has already seen two oil changes and now has a k&n air and oil filter in place and tinted windows.(18%) i got 17.4 mpg on my last tank and it doesn't bother me at all. :D

9/5/04 now at 3600 miles. Premium gas always. Average 17 mpg 50% town/50freeway. 19 mpg if 100% highway without air conditioner in operation.
Pirelli all season tires went on last week. :D I now have at least a chance to maintain control if hit patch of black ice. Pirelli's brought minor increase in cabin rattle.
LOVE this sultry black beast. Most fun of any car I've ever owned.

VW coulda had it...
I got my car late July of '03, having handed over my deposit the previous September. I now have about 17,800 miles on it, and it seems pretty much the way it was when it was brand new. Mileage has improved a bit, (to ~19 MPG all-around driving in warm weather) and other than the unavoidable rock chips, etc. it seems to be ageing well.
Some of the novelty of ownership has worn off, but after being separated from it even one day, I get a smile on my face as I get back on the road and row through the gears and carve through the corners.

Too early to notice anything yet.
