totaled my first love...
so coming home from work the engine starts to bog down, might have something to do with the intake i just installed or the fact that i was overdue for my tune up ...but my dashboard looked like christmas ..its still hazy, so i drop a gear shoot from the left lane passed the right lane onto the shoulder behind a semi truck who was in right lane ...as i get onto the shoulder theres a car parked there ...BREAKS ...SLIDE...SWERVE all at the same time into the trucks dual axle and a wall ...ive gone over this in my head so many times replayin this to see how i could have done things different....im so depressed right now ...i dont know what to say except thank GOD nobody got hurt.

sorry that happened... at least no one got seriously hurt. even when your car conks out, you have to be careful switching lanes.
its' happened to me before in my honda civic. all the sudden the engine completely died on the middle of the freeway... first thing i did was immediately turn on my hazards and then pump the brake pedal to warn cars behind me. then gradually try to move to the right safely, which i did- all the while with no engine on. (sorta gliding over.)
sudden lane changes usually are stressful and unpredictable. gotta be careful. you're better off just slowing down in the lane you're in then suddenly jerking over to the right...

Atilla, you'd never seen the Macabre?!
OP: sorry to see your car in that condition, it's a painful sight. I can only imagine what it would be like to go through that.
Keep you chin up, hope that the insurance company pays out a good amount and we'll see you in an '09 soon.

i dont know why so many people suggest buying another rx8. dont get me wrong, i love my car. but if it was totalled, i wouldnt get another. life is too short to buy the same car twice.
so what happened? you lost control when you tried to make a lane change? if thats the case, sucks, im sorry.

suspect, hopefully your insurance company will take care of things honorably (some of them are scum) and you'll be behind the wheel again soon.

As for the wreck I'm guessing he didn't see the car parked on the shoulder behind the big rig's blindspot and ran out of room or brakes.
