Asian women are scary behind the wheel if you live in "Little Saigon" California... and this is coming from an Asian guy.

The reason it is your fault automatically is that it is the responsibility of a driver to maintain a safe distance to the car in front of them. Even if the driver in front of you iwas Mario Andretti, you still wouldn't have stopped in time. The car in front of you could easily strike an obstruction (dump truck pulled out in front of them) or they could brake quickly in order to avoid a perpendicular threat (dog, deer, etc..).

At 45 mph, you're traveling 66 feet per second. Depending on distraction, alertness and age, your reaction time can be as long as 2 seconds. So you need to be at LEAST 120 feet away from someone going 45 in order to stop before they do. You'll probably take this experience as another example of the terrible driving skills of Asian women, but remember that you're the one who caused the accident and use this experience to prevent yourself from having a collision like this at 75 mph.
That is true.

I accept my part of the responsibility for it, however this could of been easily avoided. It looks like after talking to the witnesses my insurance may not go up or go after me because there is evidence i was travelling at a safe speed and distance for the situation and she has no excuse for why she stopped except saying the light way ahead was red when everyone there says it was green. Im hoping i can just get a check from the insurance company so i can get a nice carbon fiber hood, mazdaspeed front bumper and some nice front vented quarter panels... However we did notice the airbag sensors were stripped off and the airbags did not deploy so they might of been activated but failed to deploy.

Wow there is a lot of fail and racial bias in this thread. I have lived all over this great country and in other countries as well and there are bad drivers everywhere. You are bitching about her when the accident was your fault.

When I was a cop I used to listen every excuse in the book and every time someone rear ended someone, it was because the person in front of them slammed on their brakes. If you rear end someone, its your fault, period. Take responsibility and STFU.

Your insurance will go up despite how "cool" you are with them. The accident will go on your DPS record as your fault and when your insurance renews your policy, your risk factors will be higher and therefore go up.

Some of the statements from you guys are surprising and disappointing to me. Oh well.

No offense to anyone:

People who can not speak fluent english, and are driving in an english-speaking country generally suck *** at driving.

Every city in the world has minorities that suck at driving, and usually not understanding the language goes hand in hand with comprehending the rules of the road.

Not just "visible" minorities, either.

I was being sarcastic. Read my previous posts. A person's race has nothing to do with driving ability or intelligence.

Oh, and the sterotype (joke) is asians in general can't drive, not asian women can't drive. Pretty sad that people think a persons race has anything to do with an accident or driving ability.

i never said race had anything to do with driving ability. i was making a point that she couldnt speak english and was very unaware. Sounds like i may not have to pay at all because my insurance company contacted the witnesses to the scene and they are trying to get this put on her. The police officer at the scene was even on my side and said she wishes she could give the women a ticket for stupidity.

9k im not trying to discriminate i was making a point and was pissed off at the time i originally wrote the post. One of the witnesses that stopped (who was you guessed it, asian) even made a comment saying that the women drove like his wife....

me, asian, me drive good. no problem !

Well, seriously, in my opinion ~~~~~ people who can't speak the government official language should NOT be licensed. it will create a lot problems.

but next thing I know is that people will pull that "OH EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO blah blah blah" card out and ... oh well.

I know what you mean, I seen it happen. I mean come on Im from NYC ! We have all kinds of driver in here !

Like last time my front bumper got hit, yeah, I was on a 3 lane street, just got off the bridge, stop at red light, then this dude in front decided that he "should" back up to let this Van on his right to cut in front of him. BOOM ! my MS front bumper was gone. When Cops came (super fast this time, well I told the 911 lady I am right in front of the local Dunkin Donuts ... LOL), the cops even asked why did he back his car up ?

No. You should never move your car after an accident. Although in this case it might have worked in your favour.

Thank you for getting the point i was trying to make, Cops had to get involved because we couldnt simply exchange information and when i asked her if everyone was ok, all i got was a blank stare.

And yet you've been in two accidents recently. In one of them the damage was to the front of your car.

The problem when you ram into someone who does not speak the same language is that you can't communicate, so you can't apologize or vent. Nor can you effectively coordinate whatever immediate action (clear the road, direct traffic, etc.) may be needed.

FWIW, the US does not have an official language.

You are right. He wasn't, He is Hispanic.

He speaks ok English tho

At least his first respond was "Oh **** I am so sorry I didn't see you" ... my heart was full of anger, but his first sentence put it all out.

*grr*, he backed into my front. so its not my fault.

Geico (he got Geico) pay everything back, even full deductible. So I guess he is 100% at fault even the police report said so. :P

Yes. And it's a beautiful thing that most of us have agreed on something without the government requiring it. Gives us hope for self-determination.
