towbar
dont know if it's an accessory in the states but here in the uk we can get a removable towbar fitted - quite handy if you want to tow windsurfing equipment around occassionally (as i do)
however i noticed in the US owner's manual on page 4-12 that it says 'Never tow a trailer with your Mazda'. what use is a towbar if you can't tow anything?
anyone know if this is this just a US protection from lawsuit thing or has anyone asked a dealer there about towing?

...oh that's rediculous. "never tow a trailer"?? without being specific to mass, or how loaded the vehicle is, such a comment is just rediculous, and a stupid way of covering their ***.
i'm sure a small 5th wheel with equipment for going karting or autocrossing would probably be fine.

Yeah i was thinking of getting something, so I can still buy larger (not heavy just larger) items at stores. Those tiny trailers weight nothing I can't see it being a problem. Maybe with the AT but not the MT.

Bugbear,
How can I order one of these tow hitches from the U.S.?
Does Mazda UK have a web site I can order it from. Do you have a phone number I can call to order it and have it delivered to the US?
Thanks,
Roachman

Has anyone in the US purchased this tow-bar? Any other comments from those in the UK (or elsewhere) that are using it? Is it solid (it doesn't look it). Thanks!

I would like to mount a bike rack, but this does not look like it has a standard receiver. The removable idea is very nice, though. If anyone could get some more information, it would be great.
