Traded in my '00 S2000 for an '04 RX-8!
To be honest, I wasn't even sure I was going to do this until today. I've been having some issues with my back hurting after I would get out of the S2000 after spending more than 20 minutes in the car. I tried everything as far as adjusting the seats to every position imaginable.
But I could live with that. It was a minor inconveience to enjoy a great ride. However I kind of up and decided that I wanted something new. I have a business so I played around with the idea of leasing a vehicle in the name of my corporation.
Went down to the dealership today, they told me they would give me $18,000 for my '00 S2K with only 16k miles on it and that wasn't a bad deal considering I paid about $22.8k for it. Took it for a drive it was everything that I loved about the S2K with its high revving, nice sounding goodness but didn't have anything I didn't like (stiff ride, 2 seats, no trunk/cargo room, not great sound system, etc).
So I figured why the hell not, it basically doesn't cost me a penny! Like I said they were willing to give me $18,000 for my car, total out the door was $3,190 with down payment and everything else and over the course of the 30 months @ $444/month, I only have to spend about $1,500 over the course of 2 and a half years. Not too shabby.
So here is a pic of the S2K and me saying goodbye
And here two pics of my new '04 Titanium RX-8!
I got the sports package, 6MT with Nav system. I'm the kind of guy you have to spell out directions to twice so I figured this would be for the best.
So far no complaints, lest the huge scratch on the hood that I have to have the dealership take care of tomorrow.

My friend has a grey '00 s2000 and I have the exact same problem about the back.. I'm not an old person either, 24. But everytime i sat in that car for more then 20mins my back really started to hurt.. Nice car, beautiful engine(horrible interior though).. But the seats were killing me!!
I had to get into my 8 to fix my back

Congrats to you! One of my coworkers had an S2K and complained of discomfort while driving and didn't care for the handling. He traded it in for a 350Z and says it's like night and day compared to the S2K. His sister, on the other hand, bought an 8!
Good choice of colour. I also own a titanium. Not that I'm biased or anything :P
