Traded my car in early Feb, It's STILL at the dealer!

So I was at Church yesterday and the Porsche dealership is across the street. My old RX-8 is still sitting out front, and they're asking the same price they gave me for it.

Too bad for them I guess. Granted, it is a Porsche dealership, people don't go there for Mazdas, but I couldn't believe the same car was still sitting on their lot.

It looks like they sit for a long time no matter what lot they're on. It's really too bad. I loved that car, and I think the public is missing out on such a great car.

i surprised they haven't shipped it to a sister dealership, or sent it to auction.

Well they're probably asking too much for it, just like every one is. Just look at the for sale section here. Yeah, I want a used one for the same as a new one price. I'd rather have a stripped new one, than a loaded used one. New ones can be had for mid 20's. used should be in the teens. Options are only worth a fraction of their original cost, but there are always idiots who get emotional and will pay anything. I guess there are enough of those out there to keep the sellers full. Although I don't see private party sales going anywhere.

I purchased a new 05 6spd two weeks ago for under 22k... with sport package, CD changer and spoiler... $7950 under MSRP... the same dealer had a used 04 automatic with 29k miles they wanted $19,999.00 (according to the sticker) for... Because the price on the new one was so good we never even discussed the used one, but it would have had to have been well under 15k for me to even consider it!

actually, when i traded in my 2004 silver GT automatic for my 2005 black GT manual it was a pretty good deal for the dealer. Guessing because it's mazda... customers go for mazda. anyway, it was sold in 2 days.

They don't care if they sell it.

They use it to compare to a Porsche.

After a customer drives both cars, they always get a sale of a new Porche.

There is a used car dealership that I drive by everyday. They had a green E36 M3 sitting on their lot for about 8 months, tempting me everyday I drove by. They finally sold it last month. I don't think 2 months is all that long.
