Exclamation Trading in Auto 8 for Manual 8

Decide to take another look at some 8's while I was back at the dealer and ran into something. Went to test drive the manual and was like DAMN it felt so different from the first time I drove it. I've been driven the auto for 6 months now and I have noticed a pretty big difference in the power. So I think I will be trading in my auto for a manual. I was stupid for not doing it in the first place but their giving me a good deal since I'm a good customer I guess.

I will be getting a 2004 Sunlight Silver GT 6 Speed with appearance package, rotary accents, spare tire, 6 cd changer and spoiler for $29,500.

Some of you guys might not think that’s a good deal but around here (Beltsville, Maryland) that’s a good deal. I spent 28,000 just on the basic auto with a spoiler. So I'm getting allot more for only 1,500 more! By the way the car is brand new, only 3 miles and thats from me test driving it again. Oh and did I mention, I'm getting a lower APR this time too! Let’s hope everything works out tomorrow! Wish me luck!

Are you trading in your auto? If so, the important price is the total difference.

Good luck.

Weren't you the guy who was saying that the Automatic was better than Manuals because it shifted quicker or something stupid like that? You kept citing stuff like high end race cars that don't have clutches and can shift really fast, and somehow you tried to tie that in with RX8s.

I also remember you made a big deal and started polls on who would win a race between your car and a Crossfire. I believe you started something like 3 threads about that.

I guess reality set in. At least you're getting the superior model. Go get them Chrystlers, buddy!

They are givingyou that manual Rx8 for less than 2 grand + your 6month old automatic? I cannot believe that. Are yousure theyre not hiding anything from you? Sounds too good to be true to me. Theyre losing money on that deal. Is this for a lease or full purchase?

Down herethe dealerships wouldnt even swap my auto for $4000 and the manual I wasgoing to swap for had exactly the same package as mine. But at only $1500 I would definitely have doneit even thoughId be giving up the comfort Im so used to by now.

I hopeit works out for you. Be careful make sure there arent any hidden agendas.

He's not saying he's getting it for 1500, he's saying he's getting much more for only 1500 dollars. He know's he's not going to get 28 for his used auto.

So far I've been looking at every aspect of the deal and everything looks right. I got a lower price because I've known one of the sales reps and he told me to go on the internet and to look up this car and they would have to give it to me for that price. SO I DID LOL. Everything is coming together well. I was just being a FOOL before by saying the auto was fast.

But I heard the strangest thing from the sales rep thats helping me out......................he told me that he was reading the corp magazine from mazda a couple days ago and that their coming out with the drop top 8 but he said it didnt say when. I dont know how their going to do that with it having the longer body and two back windows. Oh well I rather have the hard top. I'll be going in this morning for my trade!

I seriously doubt this as the mazda website plainly says there are no plays for a convertable. Anyway, good choice to step up to the MT.

1. What are they giving you for your auto?
2. What are they selling you the MT for?

Are you saying that you are giving them your auto plus $1,500 and walking away with an MT paid for?

This smells like a troll.

I'm not a troll dude, I post pics tomorrow! I got a Manual GT with appearance package, rotary accents, spare tire, and spoiler for 29000 BRAND NEW. The original price was 32000 here at Silver Spring Mazda. You can look it up if you don’t believe me, are zip is 20705. I walked away with a hell of a deal and a lower APR! Pictures should be posted tomorrow so everyone can see. I will be putting leather in it from classic soft trim because I want a different colors then what Mazda offers.

Congrats on the purchase . . . one quick question ... how come you won't let us know how much you got for a trade in value for the automatic 8 ?

I know you aren't a troll or anything like that and I am happy for you that you purchased this new beauty but I can't understand what the big secret is ... at least 4 or 5 people have asked you and you haven't replied . . . I think others might wany to make the same move as you and this information would help them out.

I'm just curious as to what the trade in value is (how much the car has depreciated?) It is always interesting when you buy a car and they tell you that the car holds their value so well and you will get a lot when you trade it in but when times comes to trade in the car they always seem to come up with an excuse. Just an interesting observation I have made.

He won't tell us what he got for the AT because he took a bath. Which is cool. Some people can afford it.

First of all guys I messed up its not a Grand Touring just a Touring but it does have all the ground effects and accents, spare tire, and spoiler. Pics will be posted in about 10 mins after I write this, lol.

You guys are funny, its a long story. When I first walked in there, they were only going to only give me 23,000 from my Auto with sports package and spoiler. So I told them to plug their finger in their *** and to call me back when you get a better price. They called back 3 days later, lol.

Thats when everything sweet starting happening. Not only did they give me 24,500 for the Auto but they took basically 3,000 off the top of the car I was looking at. I sticker price for my Auto when I bought it was 27,899 so it did kinda hold its value. It was too good to be true I was only paying about and extra 1,500 and I was not only getting the touring package but spoiler, spare tire, appearance package, and rotary accents but the Manual Trans. Sweet Sweet Deal. I'm real happy now!!

congrats - silver is the best color

My car which hadn't been washed in a week had some mud on it, so I went out and wiped down those areas with a soft sponge. I then washed out the sponge real well, then ran the sponge across the hood where it was already sparking clean. The sponge came off dirt black. It really hides dirt well.
