Transmision question?

Transmision question?
Hi, I was driving today and I dont know if its just me or that theres something with the tranny. For example, when I shift when the car is at moving time it feels like its sort of rough, it sounds like a deep brrrp sound. So I cant tell if its been there or is it new? So does anyone know of this transmision incident or normality?

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but my gear shifting had always felt slightly grainy. I recently had the fluids swapped with red line synthetic in the tranny and diff. The shifting feel definately improved from the moment the fluids were swapped. And this isn't one of those "I think it feels better" deals, it really does feel better, smoother, crisper.

I'm not sure about the tranny issues as I don't get my 8 until Monday. However, I can attest to JasonHamilton's advice about the Redline Oil. When I had my Cobra the tranny was on its last leg so I changed the fluid with Redline and it resolved a lot of my problems. The tranny did eventually go but the Redline Fluid helped so much.

i find that when my music is on loud it's hard to get into 1st gear smoothly without revving up substancially while lifting the clutch. 1st gear seems to be for me sound oriented...can only get into it smoothly when I can hear well.
I find it a bit frustrating and easily stallable (not sure if that's word) when you aren't actually listening to the car when getting into first. Is this just me? Or is it that the car hasn't loosened up yet.

First gear shouldn't be a problem. It can be slightly hard to get into if you're already moving though... but you shouldn't need to rev the engine to get things going.
The first two gears need you do be easy on the clutch to keep the car from jerking around.

Adamaroter, I have the same thing. It seems that there are alot of people having these funny sounds from the transmission or clutch. Other say this is normal because it is a heavy duty transmission/clutch setup while other say its a weak transmission. My gut feeling is that they have some issues with the Syncro/engagement process and this either has to be adjusted or replaced.
I am more aware of this now and will be keeping my ears open. At the next opportunity, I will have Mazda look at it and see what they sy.
