Okay, disregard all the other threads. Here's the story.

I bought a used 04 Mazda RX-8, with 12k miles on it before thanksgiving weekend. On thanksgiving weekend, I took it out on the parkway to "play" yeah I wen't fast. Heard a few noises here and there.

Took it to Mazda, said nothing was wrong (normal transmission noise, proved it to me with a bulletin).

Later, I turned on my parked car - drove out of the driveway, drove down the block and my car would lose power to the wheels, thats where the clutch died.

Took it to AAMCO, put in a performance Exedy clutch. They took apart my transmission because they weren't sure what the problem was, which than later caused a noise in my transmission when going in reverse. There was another tranmission noises, chatter. Yeah, it was caused by peice of **** penzoil transmission gear oil, not even sure if it was pure synthetic (which really helps on the chatter noises.)

Alright, my car was WORKING JUST FINE, and I took it to Mazda again. This time they recommend to drop in a new transmission, or have it rebuilt. I'm having it rebuilt.

[edit]No, not at all. It's the rx8club against me. I'm out, later guys.[/edit]

Tiggerlee, did you take the hint?

I was born in Palermo, I'm 17 driving an RX-8, and I live in New Jersey.

This thread isn't about me racing the Audi, it's about my transmission being fixed.
no offense, really I'm not saying this to bash you in anyway whatsoever, but I've got to agree with them. This isn't the rx8club against you. The mere fact that you can say "It didn't happen, so why is it such a big deal?" clearly shows irresponsible behavior. If you can't see this, I hope you will sometime in the near future. I too am young (18) and I too feel there are times where you just want to drive fast. I think anyone who buys a sports car knows this feeling, but the streets is certainly not the place to let it out. There's a big difference between "spirited driving" and "reckless driving" and going 110 on any highway at anytime, regardless of however many people are on the streets with you, would be considered reckless by any rational person. If a drunk driver was on the streets driving but safely manages to drive home without hitting anything, it's not a big deal right? get real It's not about the result. if the action was irresponsible, the action was irresponsible. Just because nothing happened, doesn't change that your actions were irresponsible.
Just wondering though, did you not test drive the car before you bought it? or did the problems only develop after you started driving it. I'm not trying to accuse you of abusing the car, but maybe you should rethink how you drive the car instead of automatically assuming it's not your fault. Who knows, maybe you're a great driver, if that's really the case, than obviously this isn't your fault, but you have to admit, you've given off quite a few signs that seem to lead to abuse. learning to do burnouts definetely cant be good for your car. (yes i saw the thread)
Well, whatever happens, I hope Mazda doesn't read this and void your warranty and I hope everything works out. Good luck.

You're starting to sound like all those kids on daytime talk shows, the ones they send off to boot camp because they have a REALLY bad attitude and are completely out of control. "You don't know me, you don't know me!" all the while flipping off everyone in the audience and swearing at them! Grow up and stop acting like such a hot head!

Makes one wonder if you took it out on your car and that's why it has all these problems so soon. Hmmmmm................

I'm not aware of needing an invitation to read or post on threads. Last time I checked it was open to everyone.

I see clearly now. An ill-tempered, hot-headed, Mafia wannabe. LOL

Wow. I'm so impressed.

You know, people might take you more seriously if you weren't spending all your time swearing at them and calling them names when they disagree. If you don't figure how to control that temper or yours, it's only a matter of time before you'll be spending a very long time behind bars. Inevitably you'll mouth off and some really big guy named Bubba will beat you down.

CHEERS MATE.
Bart! - you need a break. Like a 3 day ban, for multiple violations of the forum rules.

When you come back to fill us in on how this story ends - leave the profanity at home. We don't want it here. Yeah, you're getting a bit of hassle about this story - many would say justifiably so. Suck it up, it's life on the internet. You aren't doing a great job of presenting your case or defending your story. That doesn't mean you get to lose it here and start swearing at everybody.

If you come back and start posting again like the above quote - the ban will be longer next time.

Just as an aside, the speed limit is 65MPH on the NJ Turnpike, and only 55 on the Parkway (making 110 double the speed limit). I believe 65 is the maximum posted speed anywhere in NJ. I'd just hate for everyone to be miseducated...

The problem turned out to have NOTHING to do with the transmission, they actually replaced the shift fork (no idea why, I had no problems with shifting).

I just found out that someone else with an ACT clutch in belgium is having the exact same rattling noises i'm getting.

likely a bent shift fork, but not bent enough to give you shifting issues. there was a problem with this quite a while back..

glad you got it fixed!!!
