Trouble convincing people of the space?
My last car was the MX-6 M-edition. It had a tiny backseat area that could sit a couple kids or really petite adults only.
My 8 has far more room, as I'm sure most of you know, in the backseats. I've driven before with my car full, but for some reason the space doesn't stick.
I ask when I'm driving:
"So how's the space back there?"
Typical response: "It's great, actually, very surprising. I'm not hitting my head or anything!"
Then as little a few hours later:
"Let's take <insert someone else>'s car, they have more room"
I find it baffling that someone can forget that quickly....even my wife does it. "Why don't we take my car (Grand Prix GT)", it's got more room.

Best had to be when I had to stuff my in-laws into my car. The look on adults when you tell them they have to get into the back of an 8 is always precious. Once they get in, it always changes. My wife's step father has a 911, so he never even thinks about a back seat. They were both very comfortable, yet my wife still doesn't believe anyone can be comfortable back there and always wants me to take her car when we are toting adult people around.
As far as space is concerned, the worst part is having to transport three kids and only having 2 seats for them. I always lose that one.

It's surprising that the car can seat people back there, but I find it somewhat claustrophobic, and wouldn't want to ride back there for more that a couple of minutes at a time. But, that's exactly what those seats would be used for: quick trips to a restaurant and the like.

well i've done more than 40km's at a time back there, i thought it was great, a whole lot better than any other sports car or 2 door that i've ever sat in the back of, like way WAY better.
i'm 6'3", 36" inseam, 215lbs... don't take that BS from your friends. more room in the back of a grand prix?? i've never sat in one, but probably only horizontally.
comparing the car to a 4 door, there is less room and it is more difficult to get in and out, but comparing it to a 2 door it's say, oh, about a hundred times better.

For a rip around town it's no problem and when you compare other sports cars with back seats you can appreciate the room. But stay an extended amount of time back there and it's understandable. I notice my passengers like to contort themselves so they can see where we're going. If you sit comfortably in the chair you only have the porthole to look out of, can be claustrophobic for some.
